Hey ge2, I've been looking at the Davin SP1 rims and I was wondering what made you choose the SP2 wheels over them. Was it simply a personal choice, or was there some sort of performance/structural reason?

Either way, I completely dig your ride, it looks great. I know this should probably be a separate thread in and of itself, but would you mind posting some specifics about your radar detector setup? Was it a PITA finding someplace to custom fab. everything to make it look so stealth?

I'm shooting for the Silver body / Black wheels look. I love the stock rims, but I'm terrified to weaken them structurally by powdercoating them, even though by all accounts that'd be the most cost effective way for me to go.

There is no reason behind me chosing the SP2s over the SP1s, other than I have never been a big fan of 5 spokes. Just a totally personal thing. Any forged wheel you find for our application, will be totally sound structurally.

As for the radar detector.... any decent shop will be able to install it and do a nice job. Just be specific with them. For example, the guy that has done all of my custom lighting, stereo, electrical and fabrication work over the last few years used to work at a big chain (CarToys). I thought maybe I'd save the time, and go to a different CarToys, that was closer to me. Well, when I went there, the installer came out and looked at my car. He said no problem, and proceded to tell me where he thought the ideal location for the detector display was. It would have worked just fine, and still been pretty nice, but it wasn't what I wanted. So I drove the extra few miles, saw my main man, and asked him if what I wanted was doable. He said (and he told me this many time with my last stereo setup)... "if you can think it, I can do it" :) Geez I love that. Seriously though, any decent installer can put the display where I have it.
