Any one else having the check engine light flash upon acceleration? I have only put in premium fuel and have had this happen twice now. First time I took it in to the dealer and they asked me what gas I put in. They said I must have got some bad gas since they found a misfire/preignition code. I put in some octane booster and no problem. Next tank of gas had no problems. 3rd tank of premium fuel and check engine light flashing again--once on very easy acceleration. Any thoughts?

Where do you live and what is the octane of prem gas over there? Here in Florida we get 93 .... which is awesome .. some places get only 91 .. Cali is 92 ... I don't know if that has anything to do with anything ... I has a 350Z before this SRT8 (yeah I know I like imports too ... deal with it!) and on the 350z forums people had knocking issues with lower octane prem gas with FI setup.

I'm in the St. Louis area and we do get 93 octane at most gas stations. That is all that I have put in it so far.

That is what they told me when I took it in the first time. I added a bottle of octane booster and topped off the tank. No more problems with that tank or the next but it happened again with the 3rd tank of gas. I'm now on the 4th tank of BP 93 octane and haven't had another occurance. Could it just be a coincidence on getting bad gas twice or is there a different problem?

If from different stations it would be hard for me to blame it on the fuel.

The Jeep probably just scared itself. ;)

At this stage just watch to see if it happens again. Like ARH1956 said, gas from different stations is less likely to be bad.
