So got the Vortech on the Jeep about 2 weeks ago. Hasnt been running great but its cool. So Im jumping on the 101 north this morning to head to work and 1/4 mile back and closing fast is a dark blue ford lightning. He jumps in the fast lane and slows down when he gets next to me. I look over at him and its a younger guy all dressed in his blues(police academy), and he kinda gives me the head nod. I look back and kind of give him a chuckle. So the Jeep is not running right and I havent been too hard on it just because I dont want anything to happen. Well the chuckle I think kind of pissed him off, and he jumped on it, well what else am I supposed to do, let this turd show us up? Nope, jumped on it pulled past him.......hard, and at 115 I let off to take my exit for work and ol D-bag kept in it. Had a good 2 to 2 1/2 cars on it when I was starting to slow down.

So to the wanna be cop in the blue lightning, suck it! LOL Starting the morning off on the right foot.

So far Im pretty happy with it. There are a few bugs that need to get worked out with it, so its going to the shop on monday. But like I said Im pretty happy with it.

We hit it from about 60 and went neck and neck. I was bone stock and pissed off!! I think right after that I found HHP on the web and began my quest to not be caught.
Still questing!!!

I'm working on a install deal with steve from RDP as we speak.

Is it a tune issue? Issue with the vortech system itself? Or a non vortech related issue?

wait a sec.... most of us dis the stock times of the tbss... but isnt a STOCK lightning pretty similar? think stock ones run about a 14... they are heavy azz rwd pickups... i think they actually are the same weight as a gcsrt8 with about 40 less horses...

I like to play with them with my 05 RCSRT-10 but every once in awhile one will take me for a walk. The ones that do are far from stock and not really Streetable.

How modded was the red L? 13.0's? Those trucks will run into the 12's with only a chip/pulley/filter mod. The one thing I can say about L's is...you can get them to go alot faster for alot less money.

I had one of the few 11-second L's with the stock long-block and no NOS. Had over 100K on it as well and over 200 passes on the track. And it was a daily driver...:D

I can say....without a doubt....that stock for stock...these GCSRT8's are much quicker.

^^^^^I remember you from svtperformance. When I was gung-ho into getting a lightning I was always on that site.

I still love the look of the lightnings but after driving my Jeep I changed where my $$$ was going.

I needed more room for hauling people and my motorcycle gear.

Yes...I agree!!!! Have a rig that hauls a$$ and people is awesome! I love this jeep....so much more fun to drive. :D
