Check out this video by Lake Effect Racing which was taken at the end of "One Lap of America" where the Jeep SRT8 took 18th place out of the 88 cars entered. The video shows the craziest burnout ever done in the Jeep SRT8...
And yes the owners are workers from SRT and I found a video clip showing them pulling the ABS fuse during racing. According to other videos, the Jeep is stock with only a Mopar intake, high performance brake pads, new wheels for the standard issue tires for the race and a Corsa rear-side exit exhaust (which I think will be the new Mopar system).

I dont see them pulling the fuse, but that burnout video has me so confused... wouldn't that cause damage to our AWD system?

At the end of this video, from a distance, it shows the owner popping the hood while someone lifts off the ABS fuse box cover and either inserting or removing a fuse.

As for causing damage to the AWD system, yes doing a burnout and only the rear wheels moving does put extra stress on the AWD system, however, the AWD system is designed so that system, in the right conditions, can put 100% power to the rear, while the front remain "passive." Personally I would be more worried about the damage to your tires and all the burnout rubber splattered all over the rear and under carriage.
But to answer your question, yes burnouts are not the best thing for your transmission, torque convertor, transfer case, etc... however, launching the truck is also not the best thing either!

Wow, that Jeep was insane!

Is that possible since there is always a minimum of 10% of the power going to the front wheels at all times and even if the fuse is pulled the power still transfers more to the front if the rear tires are spinning alot. I think they may have pulled the front drive shaft for that burnout. Anyways it was still insane.:D
