I ran my new '09 GCSRT8 for the first time last week in Indianapolis. First run I went 13.53 at 101mph (1250miles), I was just wondering how this compares to other completely stock trucks around the country.
60' -- 1.937
330' - 5.595
660' - 8.674
MPH - 79.82
1000' - 11.317
1320' - 13.538
MPH - 101.14mph

Did you have your TC off and used the auto stick?

I tried a few different combinations of driving. Auto stick- yeah thats a good one, they still shift on their own, even when you try to hit the rev limiter. In first gear, using the auto stick, it shifted at about 6000, maybe 200rpm higher than drive mode. I had the TC on and off, no differences, the track was pretty good so it wasn't trying to slip the tires at all.

Thats pretty slow. I've never heard of one doing worse then 13.2. Even the ****ty magazine drivers can pull off a 13.2 with these trucks. Are you sure you had the pedal all the way down?

Then again, your 60' is as bad as mine, which definetly explains part of the problem.

:werd: Hopefully you did not...because your time will improve with Autostick and traction control off. Also hopefully you did not load up the car before brake release...most have best results just punching the gas. Also how much gas in the tank?

Now if you WERE using autostick and DID turn off the TC then i would say your times are a little slow but it all depends on DA. So if it was really hot out at a somewhat high altitude then your times will suffer.

In answer to your question i ran 13.1 at 103 stock but it was around 50degs out side at 1k foot elevation.

i went 13.50 and 13.57 at 101 and 100 1.9 60fts bone stock with tc off and in D. my auto stick has not been flashed yet. did the mods in my sig and went 13.32 103 and 13.19 at 102 1.8x 60fts with tc off and in D, auto stick still not done yet. the 13.19 i power broke it until the rear tires started to spin and launched. i was looking for more out of it from the factory but what can you do. i wanted 13.2 and 12.8 after mods but oh well. maybe auto stik once flashed will help some.

My best result was TC off with auto-stick in use(but it still shifted on its own) and no stall up at the start. Around here in Indianapolis the actual alt is 800' and the DA is usually around 2000' because our barometer is usually in the toilet around 28.80". It was about 75deg outside. I only had a 1/4 tank of gas.

For comparison, I had a Chevy Silverado SS before this and ran it with 1500 miles on it and ran a 15.55 and then ran it again with 30K on it and ran 15.35 big difference with some wear-in time. I am completely pleased with the performance of the Jeep!

60 foot times in the Jeep were 1.95, 1.94, and 1.93. All were normal, whack the throttle and go type of driving, and I was staged as shallow as possible. I am happy; though the only people that outran me that night were a couple of Corvettes and one annoying little EvoX, other than that the other guys in Mustangs and such were getting left in the dust.

my first 1/4 mile was

60' -- 1.926
330' - 5.553
1/8 - 8.625
MPH - 79.71
1000' - 11.275
1/4 - 13.504
MPH - 100.75mph

I actually had a Bwoody 4" intake at that time... Also a full tank of gas... :)

It seems a couple tenths slow but if it was hot out..that explains it

My first time on the track ever was Zmax. Jeep was stock, about 3500 miles. Ran 13.26 right around 104 mph. Full tank of gas. I have the slip downstairs, I will post the other times tomorrow.

not horrible runs bro, but somewhat slow compared to the average, either way you're still riding around in a badass rig, i personally dont mind if my 1/4 times are nothing special, at the end of the day the Jeep SRT8 is beast and the nicest thing on the road imo ;)

Yes to all of the above except unfortunately we do not run Topeka, we are off until Joliet(Chicago) June 5-7.

Did you let it cool off? Heat can really slow us down. 75 degrees isn't bad, but driving an hour in it, then racing without a cool down period can explain your slow times. I got 13.5's all day when it was hot out and I didn't cool it down. I got my 13.2 stock in 80-90 degrees but allowed it to cool down. Enter mods below, and I got a 12.7.

I hot lapped the Jeep, I didn't feel like waiting around the track for it to cool down. The next time I am there I will let it sit and see what happens, thanks for the info.

And therein lies the rub. :) Try icing the intake manifold if you're going to hot lap and get a fan mod wire. You should see a 13.3-13.4.

Shouldnt a T-Stat help this?

to an extent... if your are idling then full throttle can the cooling system keep up? i dont have a t-stat... but i would watch the gauge... if it started to creep up i would stop...

when you put in a lower t-stat you are putting a higher load on the cooling system to keep the motor that cold... (so in traffic and such you might see it not be able to keep it low

I have to say, It's pretty awesome that you have a Jeep. Now, lets see your time slip with what I'm sure is one of those .00? lights.:D

I have always wanted a Jeep ever since I saw one on the cover of Car and Driver when they came out. My old Chevy was falling apart and I decided it was time to get the Jeep, especially with all of the deals they had going in the beginning of the year.

Here is a run that reset the PSM national record in St Louis a few weeks ago.

1320' - 6.860
1/4mph - 192.13
