: Need powerfolding mirrors!
whipple1 02-22-2007, 04:32 PM I havent read if anyone installed powerfolding mirrors yet,I will definatly be putting them on the truck in near future.I have this option on my Denali and it is awsome.Just wondering if anyone has done this install to see how it went, hardest part looks like removing the door panels and running the two extra wires, other than that peice of cake,Besides the extra $ 606.50.If anyone did this please let me know or maybe I will be the first. Thanks Kevin...

Please do it!
I'm waiting for someone else to confirm that the part numbers are correct. Since they're special order, I'm stuck with them if they're wrong.
Anyway, it looks like a very easy and useful mod, especially if you have a tight garage parking situation like me.

Why would you think the part#s are wrong?,I know they will fit because the overland has the same door. The worst thing I will have to do is to maybe paint them.I should be going to dealer next week for a couple of things thats when I will order them or see what the parts guy says.I will take pics as I do it to help out anyone that wants to do it.

I was going to order the newly listed '07 overland mirrors, which are available painted.

whiskey 02-23-2007, 04:46 AM So am I to understand that a new pair of overland mirrors are about $600.00? Do the overland mirrors have the same shape and dimensions as the GC mirrors?

Yeah, I've spoken to him. Again, I want to do the prepainted ones from the '07 Overland. Those part numbers posted above are from WKjeeps, and I'd still like to see someone else order them first.

Mango 02-23-2007, 05:08 AM LOL! I'm sorry, but this seems like a rediculous feature. It saves you what....a whole 2 inches? They're still sticking out since the mirrors are not exactly thin. If your parking situation is THAT tight, how can you even get the door open?

I've been quoted a bit cheaper price from our resident forum's parts department.
My problem is the description on the parts computer doesn't state power folding, and since it's special order, I'm stuck if they aren't right. I'll let someone else blaze this trail.

It's more then 2, prolly closer to 6. That means a foot if both are folded in.

Mango 02-23-2007, 05:12 AM Really? They look so thick, it seems like the difference would not be that great. Can someone measure the difference with them folded in vs. sticking out. So you're saying when the drivers side mirror is folded in, it saves 6 inches?

10 1/4" out, 4 1/2" folded.
I'm sitting with the laptop close to my garage. ;)

Actually it does, in the form of the Overland mirror sales code which is "GUQ".

Mind if I ask a round figure to better describe a bit cheaper?
Very interested in this mod. My Denali had this, and it was so very much easier to pull into a garage with the mirrors tucked in.

Stripper 02-23-2007, 11:16 AM Left and right is correct.
championjeep 02-23-2007, 04:40 PM I believe through my parts department I was right around $225 for one side and about $350 for the other. If anyone wants them for sure, let me know what color so I can get you the right price:)
championjeep 02-23-2007, 04:42 PM Almost forgot, the switch will be about $5.00
scottina06 02-23-2007, 05:53 PM can you get them in Inferno Red?

That shouldnt be a problem, I will check with my parts department in the morning.
Hallstar 02-23-2007, 06:33 PM Stripper,is the $275 for the pair or each mirror? Thank You!!!
ResumeSpeed 02-24-2007, 03:42 AM With a wholesale cost of under $500 for a pair of the more expensive body-color mirrors, I don't think $750 is anywhere near a good deal. $250+ profit on a simple parts sale seems excessive, that's a whopping 50% markup.

Championjeep is quoting something around $575.

That would be for the one side, not a pair.
Thanks for the question and let me know if you have any other questions.
championjeep 02-24-2007, 08:40 AM I checked with my parts department this morning, Black and Steel Blue will be $580 for the pair. Silver and Red Rock will be $570 for the pair. If anyone has an Inferno Red 06 I can get those as well, but I cant find the part number for them.

Great prices. I don't believe you will find the mirrors in Inferno Red, for the '06 model year the Overland mirrors were the Platinum trim versions only. Body-color mirrors did not come out until after the 2007 model year started.

ok, that would be why I cant find a part number. An also why I dont work in parts.:D
stevem 02-26-2007, 06:44 PM I am just about ready to attempt this upgrade. I am starting to wonder about the wiring though.
If you go on the jeep website and do the side by side comparison of the overland to the srt8, you'll see you have the option of adding a power-folding mirror to the SRT8. It shows an "A" for available.
I can't see making a service tech spend several hours running a dual wire from one side of the car to the other. I'm starting to think that the wiring is already there, and that you need only change the switch and mirrors.
Most of the posts that I have seen for people who have done this upgrade, and needed to run a dual wire, do not have 06 or 07 Jeeps.
I'm going to do the upgrade next week, so I guess I'll find out. I just need to get the mirrors ordered. I'll take lots of pictures.
