I was at seven eleven late last night parked in front... walked out and got back into truck... all of a sudden this dude is walking towards my driver side window... my friend (girl) is in passenger seat... as he's walking towards me he gestures for me to roll down window...

i say out loud before i even begin to roll window down
" ahhh guy... its late man... lets talk about the rig another night... "

i roll the window down... and he says as he points over to his truck a few spaces over

"you have a dollar? im outta gas... ?"

i looked at him and said.. "huh? (as im thinking to myself "bro.. you just made me look like an obnoxious meat head") a dollar? yeah bro... heres your dollar... "

Shes totally cool and just laughed.... glad it wasnt a date or a first date for that matter.. i would have so looked like i thought i was joe cool driving the rig.. ha..

so not everyone wants to asks questions about the rig so be careful.. !! :)

A dollar for gas, how far can you go on a dollar. I worked at CVS in college and one time a guy came in and used the outta gas excuss so I gave him 5$ to fill up a can, said he would come back but never did.

Nice.... On a personal level, no one seems to notice my rig. if they do, they don't talk to me about it. Of course, i've only had it for about a week, but still. It's not exactly stopping traffic.

Less than a half gallon. So about 3-5 miles in ours. :p

Yes there is jay.. !! and yes i did have a dollar... You can usually tell if someone really needs the $$ or not. If someone really needs it for what they say they do than they are usually pretty ashamed/humble to ask for money. If its total b.s. that they like to sound like you're a douche if you dont give them $$$ for their M&m's, gas, etc

or crack... it is really bad around here... in the last 3 years ive probably gotten asked like 6-7 times personally...

i usually do the "where is your car and ill go tell them to turn the pump on inside because i dont have cash"... that way you know they arent going to get some booze or something

I always have cash on me...But I'll admit, i'd never lend out a dollar to some stranger. I'm not that nice haha.

They are like vultures. Last time I dipped into my wallet, 4 others came flying in. Literally. This was in Newark no less, so I wasn't about to piss off some big crazy black dudes. :D

Ive noticed a lot of people asking for money for Gas lately. In my first 8 years of driving i never got asked for money, in the last 2 years ive been asked like 3-4 times. The scary thing is i have had a lot of strange characters walk up to me for various reasons and it usually happens at a Gas station.

One time i had a guy with a huge cut in his hand that was very much scabbed over like it was an old injury come up to me at a gas station (He kind of wrapped it in a paper towel acting like he was holding blood in, but the towel was pure white). He said he needed a ride back either to his car, or the hospital I cant remember. The scary thing is i was in my brand new Z06 (Like i was on the roadtrip on the way home from picking it up). Luckily nothing happened, and my dad was at a nearby pump with another car in case something did but still. At this busy truck stop gas station i dont know what would have possessed the guy to go talk to me, who was in a new corvette, with a two seater somewhat valuable car by myself. I would think he would have more luck with some guy with a truck or something like that. Im always more willing to help someone out if i am not buy myself for obvious reasons.

I would've replied with "get a job". Only time i'll ever go to newark is when the NJ Devils play. Other then that, there is no reason for me to go to newark. Newark is pretty ghetto

They do come up with good stories, Last time dude gave me a long story about how the ATM eat his card and he needed money to get gas. I told him the ATM cant eat your card, its a swip ATM machine, he walked away, LOL NEXT....

Exactly! And I thought I made a wrong turn and ended up in the South Bronx. Never going there again!

i think i gave off the wrong impression :)

I very rarely give out money... but the reason why i did is when I left the store it was odd to see just a SINGLE DOLLAR BILL in my money clip... so i get in the car and some stranger asks me for a DOLLAR... i thought it was so ironic so i handed it right over to him... ha

Kind of like fate, destiny, or it was just meant to be. Just like I only have 1 dollar in my wallet too. ;)

It probably just depends on where you live... around here I don't carry any money on me but I won't hesitate to get out and push a car or help someone out stranded on the side of the road.

Of cousre I know of people who live in my town that don't lock their doors and leave the keys in their ignitions.

Nope. Sorry. Not to sound greedy but I don't trust ANYONE walking up to my window. Window stays up and they get waved off. Been carjacked before. Not fun.
