When launching, everyone says put it in autostick and let it shift for you. What is the difference between that and just leaving it in automatic. Are the shift points different at WOT?

Autostick combined with pulling the ABS fuse #39 took .2 secs off my 1/4 mile time. Went from 13.3 to 13.1. Don't know why, but it was certainly better.

I hvnt done it but i believe Autostick Revs Higher for a more effective shift. Im sure someone will chime in shortly.

The auto mode in my case will get lazy some times and short shift the 1-2 shift at 5500 but all other gears will shift at 6100. In auto stick it will shift at 5900 on the 1-2 shift and 6100 on all others.

Thanks for the input fellas. I currently run a BBill High torque tranny and transfer case. I know Bob fiddled with the stock valve body as well but it IS NOT his upgraded valve body which is suppose to bang into each gear. I did not want that for my daily driver. I noticed that in AUTO, no matter what gear I am in, it will rev to 6800rpms at WOT before shifting. So I guess I can leave it in AUTO all the time and not mess with autostick.

i was under impression (maybe just older 06's) that in auto stick it wont shift until you do, so you can choose persay, so technically you could run around town at 6100rpms all day but I guess now its shifts for you, so in auto (or D) it runs through gears as set or as the computer was set from factory, like factory points, but in autostick, it selects each gear individually and then determines real time maybe when to shift based on the throttle positioning, so WOT in autostick would normally shift higher than WOT in D would it not? thats impression i have as of now, any one feel free to comment lol

Do you mean 5800 not 6800? If it is 6800 WOW.

6800 rpm is well into the red zone.

how many runs each way did you do (with the fuse)? did you do it on different days? ive went to the track 3 times this year and on any of those days my time changed .1-.2 just by me driving (and the magic 5th run)...

I'll put this theory to the test on Wednesday when I hit the track. I recently got the update so it will shift itself now. Before-if I didn't catch it just right-I'd hit the limiter

I thought the ABS Fuse was #17 in the engine thats located in the fuse block closet to the engine firewall?
