Hey guys, my S/C kit will be installed by thusrday and will test it with Vortechs by-email-tune through saturday and then go on dyno for final tuning! I am very excited. no doubt will be fadtes SUV here in Peru!

Anyways, I have one question though, after installation, is there a recommended break-in period for the S/C kit for a certain amount of miles? If so, how fast should I go? If no break-in period is requeired can I just floor it as soon as it is ready?

Thanx!

Jose

When I got mine, Chris Whalley at Vortech told me not to take it above 2500 rpm until the engine was at operating temperature. After that rock on!!!!!

By that I am to understand that there is no break in period, however, verytime i start it up must not go above 2,500rpms before engine warms up? What happens if I do? Any other useful info? Thanx!

KABOOM.....haha jk. If you beat on it before you hit engine operating temps I would imagine you would put extra wear and tear on the motor and other parts. I don't think anything detrimental would happen such as your motor blowing etc. My truck is stock and I always wait until it hits 180 degrees to romp on it

I don't think it would be good for the S/C unit itself. Also make sure you change the oil I think at 2500 miles, I might be conservative on that but just email Vortech, their support is awesome.
