Hey guys. I was told that a 38 offset on a 10.5" 22 wheel will work on the rears my srtgc. Is this true. It is a one piece wheel. Rm360 has a one piece giovanna 22" but his rear offset is 55. I dont want my rear wheels sticking out past the fender. Does the guy(wheel specialist) telling me this know what he is talking about?

Offset is the distance between the wheel mounting face and the centerline of the wheel. Backspace is the distance from the wheel mounting face to the inside edge of the wheel. Stock rear offset is 50mm, and stock rear backspace is 170mm.

Since there appears to be little room between the inside edge of the rear wheel and the rear strut, I'd think you'd want to maintain the stock 170mm backspace. To do that on a 10 1/2" wheel, you're going to need a minimum backspace of 44mm, IMO. (Unless my math is wrong.)

The offset on my 10.5s is 52mm. I just don't think you'd be happy with 38, and I think you're wheel guy might be mistaken.

If you go here: http://www.wkjeeps.com/wk_wheels.htm you'll see that stock, our SRTs are 34.75 up front and 50 out back.

The offset on my 10.5s is 57mm. I just don't think you'd be happy with 38, and I think you're wheel guy might be mistaken.

38mm offset on a 10 1/2" rim also may create issues with the strut.

I have the same question. I will ask it in a more specific manner: What are the exact specs that I need to tell my wheel guy when ordering custom 3-piece rims? I don't want to drop 5 large for some sick rims only to be unhappy with the outcome. And not to mention, it seems everyone (ESPECIALLY the so-called "wheel experts" who sell the things) has it slightly different.

The stock specs are listed on the WK link above. When building my wheels, Davin decided to do a 9.5 x 22 up front and 10.5 x 22 out back. My front offset is 37 and back is 52 (I WROTE 57 ABOVE BY MISTAKE-- AND HAVE NOW FIXED THAT).

For clarification, there are big differences between 1) a wheel guy at the local wheel shop, 2) a wheel guy who daily deals with high end wheel manufacturers, and 3) wheel manufacturers themselves.

From my experience only, I would never trust a #1 with a set of custom built rims, OR a specialty size/fit issue (which is what we have).

Thanks for the quick response guys. I really dont understand why this guy would not do his home work with the offset. I am dealing with California Wheels in San Jose. www.caliwheels.com It looks like they deal with custom wheels on a regular basis BUT!! are going to make a mistake here unless they know some thing you guys dont. What questions should I ask this Guy? I have told him over and over that I have the SRT8 Cherokee and that the offset is 35 front and 50 rear sitting on 20s. He said he did some research and that it will work. I also told him to explain how a 38 offset WILL work. He said because the stock is a 10" wheel and the 22" is a 10.5 wide wheel. That the .5 diffrence is roughly 12mm, which if you add to the 38 it will equal out to be a 50mm offset(I hope I am making sense!!) Is what he saying BS. IF SO I REALLY NEED TO CANCEL MY ORDER!! HELP!! Buy the way the fronts I ordered are 22x9 with a 35 mm offset, pretty sure that will work.

Check out the D'Vinci DV-50. I called the manufacturer direct to confirm fitment for the Jeep SRT8. They said no problem, it comes standard in 20x9 and 20x10 staggered fitments and they do the custom bolt patterns and custom offsets accordingly. I plan on getting these as soon as I sell this damn Cadillac and get the SRT8...
