I'd like to start a Z MAX thread informing people why it should not be used.

Considering their heavy marketing, I figure someone will get duped and put it into their 6.1.

Therefore, please share why this could be harmful or of no benefit.

Alternatively, if you think this stuff is good, please share your thoughts.

I hear it can wear down bearings prematurely and provides NO benefit.

I have no personal experience with the stuff, and it's unlikely I'll ever use it. I did find some "epinions" though - http://www.epinions.com/reviews/zMAX_Micro_Lubricant.

You should use Zmax cuz they obviously sprinkled some of it on their track... and nobody could hook for sh1t, thats some slippery stuff!

Believe it or not the FCT ruling was overturned, ZMax challenged it and won, partially won that is. None of the other lube additive companies fined at the time managed to fight and overturn anything.

From what I see, these additive companies got slapped for how they worded claims, "8% increased mpg" should of read "up to 8% increased mpg in certain conditions", stuff like that.

The advertising greatly changed with Slick 50, Duralube, QMI, and a few others. Zmax did also change but not to the same degree, and they are the only only left to allow advertizing for hp gains since testing did show gains recognized by the FTC. I don't plan on using it, $25 per fill, pfffth, I'll stick with a descent synthetic instead.
