: TURBO anyone?
FastSRT8GC 02-19-2007, 03:03 PM OK, I just got off the phone with stage6motorsports.com. They built the Ford GT twin turbo over here in Jacksonville, FL. I gave him a price that i am comfortable to work with for a strong reliable system. (8- 12k)
From what i have seen and read about them they are top notch.
He told me he will talk to his fabricators and his programmer and give me a price for a single turbo system.
Who else is interested. I am sure if we get 4 or 5 Jeeps we will get a discount and speed up production!
www.stage6motorsports.com DOWNLOAD THE GT TT VIDEO.....DAM!!!!!
GotStroke? 02-19-2007, 03:14 PM Stage VI does outstanding work, and they won't part your car out while you're waiting for it to get done. Joe's GT is a sick car, I'm currently in the process of writing a feature about it.
BuilderBill 02-19-2007, 03:18 PM Wow, and Jacksonville, FL. is "just down the road a piece" from Charlotte. It looks like a 1st class outfit with a 4 wheel drive dyno.
FastSRT8GC 02-19-2007, 03:53 PM This is good that some of you know of Stage6. The more info i get will make me more comfortable to bring my Jeep up to them for a week while they do some massive surgery.
firefighter 02-19-2007, 03:53 PM Fast
Count me in, I have been thinking supercharger but a turbo will be better for the AWD.(lower tq # in the lower rpm"s). Any talk on horsepower and tq numbers with the turbo?
Jim
El Jefe 02-19-2007, 03:53 PM Definitely a first class company. Theyve already built several twin turbo GT's. I would love to see a single on a Jeep!! Depending on the tune, I bet you could see somewhere around 600rwhp
firefighter 02-19-2007, 04:09 PM I am looking for 600. Sounds good.I will be looking into more on Tues. and give them a call.I am ready to send them my 07 now.
FastSRT8GC 02-19-2007, 04:11 PM I told him i would like to see mid 500's- 600 seeing that the trans will only hold 600HP. And 03Roush, you are correct its all going to be in the tune. This is why I am not interested in the GSM charger. I will email him and let him now I have one other person with possible interests, I am sure more will follow seeing how the owners of these jeeps have some decent size pockets.
El Jefe 02-19-2007, 04:15 PM have them do a built tranny too!!! Why not go all out! 750rwhp daily driver/grocery getter/TT Cobra killer!!!
FastSRT8GC 02-19-2007, 04:31 PM You think? Unlike some the lucky guys on this forum my funds are limited. I can have them do a 700+ system then choke it out with a boost controler. So when i recoup from the initial investment i can fortify the trans.
My actual concern is not the trans, its the transfer case and diffs and half shafts in the front.
What cha think?
El Jefe 02-19-2007, 04:43 PM Id bet everything would have to be upgraded. Brakes should be good though. And I dont think anyone has gone to this extent, as far as I know, on a Jeep yet. It would be nice to see though!
FastSRT8GC 02-19-2007, 04:54 PM I also would like it to be a daily driver, all local (5 mile radius) and a few trips here and there, also Saturday night street races. So i will also need reliability to be there. MPG is not much of a concern for now at these prices. I have my wife's Honda FiT for the MPG.
Torrie from www.srt8tuning.com has a TT from stage 6 also, plus he has a Jeep GC srt8 so maybe he can be a big help. The problem will still be the tuning and supposedly they are still working on one.
Black_SRT8 02-19-2007, 06:45 PM First-rate operation for sure.
Playing the cynic is unpopular, but I wonder if they know the difficulties with hacking DCX's proprietary programming...
timster 02-19-2007, 07:48 PM I'd be interested in a turbo if it was not more than about 8k or so..
Inferno SRT8 02-19-2007, 07:54 PM Im in if they can tune my fuel management.
FastSRT8GC 02-19-2007, 09:07 PM WOW, The "I'm in" came faster then i though. Well I advise everyone to give a call to them tomorrow. I am happy to be the test fit, since i am not that far away. He also has a friend that has a GC SRT8 so this could be beneficial to many!!
jaybruce 02-20-2007, 02:45 AM Any info on the specific turbo to be used? I'd be interested if they could fit a single Garrett GT4202R or a 4292R in there.
FastSRT8GC 02-20-2007, 05:09 AM No idea yet, They should be putting together some specs. When they do, with pricing of course, i will forward all the info on.
timster 02-20-2007, 05:30 AM its one thing to fit in a turbo, but I wonder if anyone will be able to tune it optimally
FastSRT8GC 02-20-2007, 06:39 AM From what I was told, the guy that does all their tuning has been working on the Chrysler system to figure out what needs to be done. From what I have seen his guy knows what he is doing and also wants to make the vehicles fail safe and daily drivers. Most ....MOST companies wants to make something that is reliable. Unfortunately from what i have read and seen the companies making products currently were more interested in getting a product to the marketplace rather then R&D, at least for the turbo and supercharged aspect.
Blown-WK 02-20-2007, 08:55 AM Yeah Torrie knows his stuff. That is where I take my Jeep to run it on the dyno. He is definitely in the works on trying to get some tuning options for the Chrysler products and is getting close. I have been up at the shop quite a lot recently and there is definitely enough SRT8 and other Jeep guys to make this a reality. We need support from all you guys! The more hype we create about Jeep tuning, the quicker something will happen.
GotStroke? 02-20-2007, 10:56 AM its one thing to fit in a turbo, but I wonder if anyone will be able to tune it optimally
If JH can get a turbo jeep on the road, Stage 6 will have no issues.
Blown-WK 02-20-2007, 12:21 PM If JH can get a turbo jeep on the road, Stage 6 will have no issues.
Amen...LOL
Chris@LPM 02-20-2007, 01:39 PM Count on three of us in the Orlando area.
930chas 02-20-2007, 01:54 PM I'm definitely interested.
tmcphail 02-21-2007, 10:58 AM This has been on my mind for about 8 months. Recalibration and having these vehicles tuned the right way has been holding us back so far but that is about to change. I may be forced to handover my jeep to build the templates for this kit though. No arm twisting needed :D
FastSRT8GC 02-21-2007, 12:08 PM tmc, where are you located?
If you are closer it would be great for you to be the test dummy. I am in Tampa and I am the original person that contacted them, so if you are right there you could be the first, to save me from driving all over the place.
Looks to me like there will be many Turbo GC SRT8 runnin around! Thank god its a big country. I am not looking for even competition i want to WOOP SOME ARSE!
Nobody knows what this thing is aready imagine with a turbo.... CAN'T WAIT!
Blown-WK 02-21-2007, 01:33 PM That is Torrie from Fast Parts Network (next door to stage 6). We are located in Jacksonville, FL.
http://www.fastpartsnetwork.com/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/
tmcphail 02-21-2007, 01:52 PM True, Stage 6 and I share the same dyno facility, they have an AWD dyno on their side. I have a new Dynojet 224XLC in ground on my side. Together we cover the whole import / domestic spectrum when it comes to tuning. I drove my jeep up here today so dwight could start to estimate what would be involved in making this kit work.
FastSRT8GC 02-21-2007, 02:15 PM Well he is just a bit closer then me.
Lets make this happen! I am ready, and several other as well.
timster 02-21-2007, 02:16 PM this sounds awesome. Can't wait to get a reliable turbo kit!
tmcphail 02-21-2007, 02:19 PM We are working on it.
Blown-WK 02-21-2007, 02:57 PM We are working on it.
And no doubt it will be a top notch kit considering we have two of the highest horsepower Ford GT's in the world (one being yours) that were fabricated by Dwight and the team.
renntech36 02-21-2007, 05:03 PM you know im probably in guys! Goin to the track tomorrow, so I'll let ya know what happens Torrie!
Oh, and for all you doubters, these dudes are the ONLY dudes I would trust to work on my Jeep.
When I get back from West Palm, Ill be up at Stage 6 to see whats up!
Harris Snodgrass
firefighter 02-21-2007, 05:52 PM I am in on this guys. Keep me posted there is strenth in numbers!!!
If and only if a tune is available, I am down. Do us a favor though and keep the price attainable for us common folk ;)
tmcphail 02-21-2007, 06:23 PM If and only if a tune is available, I am down. Do us a favor though and keep the price attainable for us common folk ;)
I wouldn't do it if I didn't have the ability to tune it properly. I wanted to go down this path when I bought my jeep in march of 06 but have waited specifically for this reason.
tmcphail 02-21-2007, 06:24 PM Rock on Harris!

timster 02-23-2007, 06:50 AM one question - will the turbo kit/tuning work with both 06 and 07 models. I heard the PCM is different..
tmcphail 02-23-2007, 07:12 AM During and one MY the calibrations generally change somewhat. So the short answer is yes.
FastSRT8GC 02-24-2007, 05:12 PM Blown & TMC, any news or progress? I know you guys are next door and are probably friends with these guys at Stage6 so keep the pressure on.
Also i was thinking that PPP has the 426 tune with bigger injectors. This may give us the fuel we need, Some adjustment made down low for the over fueling before the boost kicks in. What you think, I know it is much more complicated, but it is an idea.
tmcphail 02-24-2007, 05:33 PM Stage 6 and my tuning company work together every single day. I just get to have my jeep used as the test bed.
Also i was thinking that PPP has the 426 tune with bigger injectors.
what are you referring to? I do all of my own custom tuning and I will hand tune my jeep as well. With and without the single turbo setup
FastSRT8GC 02-24-2007, 07:42 PM I was under the impression that the tune was the problem here, also that nobody up there had cracked the code.
I noticed you did the tuning for the other cars but was unsure about the Jeep, sorry didnt mean to insult you..
So do you have a tune available? I will drive up this week so you can tune mine with my B&B and my CAI. Let me know. While your working on it i will get you some lunch in your GT TT!!:D
tmcphail 02-24-2007, 08:53 PM No insult taken. The Jeep recalibrations aren't out just yet for the public but it will be released shortly once we finish up the research with my Jeep.
FastSRT8GC 02-24-2007, 09:30 PM Good, i dont want to insult the guy that will be tuning my Jeep!
Quick question what do you have done to your Jeep, I see you have a 12.4 @ 109. I am in Tampa, so the conditions should be about the same, Humidity,Temp, Altitude. When i go to the track i should have My B&B on( if it ever arrives) along with my Volant CAI and a 170 termo.
Thanks,
Chris
tmcphail 02-24-2007, 09:41 PM CAI and a 100 NX wet shot she hits the mark everytime.
FastSRT8GC 02-27-2007, 08:10 PM Whats the Haps on this the R&D?
Please keep us up to date.
tmcphail 02-28-2007, 06:28 AM I will these things take time to be do correctly. New information to be released by the end of next week.
gculver 02-28-2007, 07:03 AM I will these things take time to be do correctly. New information to be released by the end of next week.
Keep us up to date, Torrie. A tubro would work well with my combo.
tmcphail 02-28-2007, 07:24 AM I will when I have things I can release.

Yep, we will break some pieces along the way with those HP numbers. Damn and I just ordered a converter good for 600hp....real smart huh?
Bill
FastSRT8GC 02-28-2007, 01:50 PM Let me know the difference with that converter, what stall?
BuilderBill 02-28-2007, 02:01 PM Let me know the difference with that converter, what stall?
The APS Performance 2600 Stall Converter just arrived at Mopar Super Center and I am heading to Charleston, SC Thursday & Friday where they are located to have it installed. Hope to rent Rockingham for a day later next week to test it out. I wish the intake spacers I ordered from GS Motorsports would arrive before I rent the track but I believe I saw where the darn spacers are back ordered. Damn, would have been the perfect opportunity to test the converter and also back to back the intake spacers. Taking a couple of my superintentendants with me to Rockingham to help flog the Hemi.
Bill
Any update on the turbo systems??
gculver 03-13-2007, 08:17 AM ^^^^^ Ditto^^^^^:)
tmcphail 03-13-2007, 08:31 AM Not yet. Getting the calibration side sorted out first is paramount. After that the rest will be easy for us.
Blown-WK 03-13-2007, 08:38 AM Niiiiiiice
gculver 03-13-2007, 09:14 AM Torrie, will the calibration be capable of tuning for idle rpm and cam choice?
navyavi469 03-01-2008, 06:07 PM Well its not from Stage 6, but the "Street Tune" portion of our build has come to an end. After further upgrades are completed in the coming months (9" rear, tranny, etc), we will finalize the high-boost tuning. As far as I know, this is the highest HP Jeep to date, I think Bryan and a few others behind him should hit the 700+ mark, but I'll be content for a while :)

And more importantly is that it is tuned through the stock pcm. Congrats on the finished product and enjoy the new vehicle.
navyavi469 03-02-2008, 05:42 PM Thanks for the kind words PPP! Yes it is tuned through the stock PCM!
