: Are 07 SRT Charger Rotors The Same As An 07 SRT Jeeps?
El Calor 02-19-2007, 01:37 PM My buddy has an 07 SRT-8 Charger and it comes with awesome slotted rotors! I believe this is the fix to the dreaded squealing brake problem, but they do not offer this for the Jeep...what the hell?! Are the stock rotors the same on both vehicles?
BuilderBill 02-19-2007, 01:55 PM I have drilled and slotted rotors from DiscItalia on my JGC. Kinda expensive though. Bought at Brakeworld:

Very nice with the C-tec pads from Zechausen:

FastSRT8GC 02-19-2007, 02:11 PM That price is kind of high, I was able to put a floating rotor on my mini with wilwoods for 1200.00. I also just talked to a guy at DBA brakes and he told me that they will have something for the jeep soon. The manufacture has the factory rotor and is developing a drilled/slotted rotor. I ordered some yellow EBC pads that should be a bit more aggressive and less dust. I will let you know.
El Calor 02-19-2007, 02:38 PM I'd be happy with the new factory slotted rotors that are now standard on the SRT8 cars...anyone know if they are interchangeable?

Those are GORGEOUS! I'm sitting here with them in my shopping cart from brakeworld.com. I'm hesitent to buy them, however, since I've heard about so many problems with warping rotors that are drilled AND slotted. Have you found this to be the case at all? I already have the Zeckhausen pads.

I changed the original pads and rotors at 2000 miles they were grooving so badly. Now I have 4500 miles on the new setup (6500 total) and the rotors have a beautiful light gray pad transfer on the brake rotor surface and look perfect. I do not have any warping and almost negligible dust. I researched this and looked at the top performing AMG's in the world and they use the drilled and slotted rotors. Oh hell, I actually just copied ge2! LOL

Mango 02-19-2007, 03:32 PM LOL! Thanks Bill! I'm buying these now with the racemesh grills too. DAMN YOU GE2!!! LOL! Looks like the 3 of us just have excellent taste. :D

ge2 is killing both of us!
My new stock dash panels (the 2 humped things) should be here any day and I will send them out to be clad in leather like our brothers across the pond. Oh yeah, guess who lives about 3000 miles west of Charlotte and told me the place in North Carolina to go to.....yes ge2 again!http://www.cherokeesrt8.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gifhttp://www.cherokeesrt8.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif

Mango 02-19-2007, 03:47 PM LOL! Nice man. I'm have my local interior guy do my humps in the same carbon-fiber look vinyl that is on our steering wheel and shift knob. He's also doing the tops of my door panels and embroidering the "SRT8" logo on them. =)

Sounds great, post some photos when done.
El Calor 02-19-2007, 07:24 PM The word from my dealer is that the SRT8 car rotors are the same part # as the SRT8 Jeep! However, there isn't a part # for the new slotted rotors yet, but it should released soon!
Inferno SRT8 02-19-2007, 07:27 PM Only LX's get slotted rotors, all you guys need to start complaining to your dealers about your rotors and they will eventually do something with out rotors and pads, or you can get the C-Teks and not have to wait or worry.

The rotors can't be the same because the Lug Nut pattern is 5 x 5 for the Jeep and 5 x 115 (approx 4 1/2) for the charger.I know because I have some nice Black 20" wheels that I had on my charger that would have looked nice on my GC SRT8.Good Luck

That's weird because the parts guy said they were the same part #...ghey

What can I say?
El Calor 02-19-2007, 11:17 PM damn dealers :)
whiskey 02-20-2007, 07:37 AM Seems as though the dealer knows the least information that would be beneficial to the customer. I knew more about the Cherokee and Charger than my dealers did. This is probably the same issue.

Very interesting!!!
What if you could change the rotors and wheels? Or use aftermarket Wheels built to charger specs but with GCSRT backspace.
Hmmm?
whiskey 02-20-2007, 08:10 AM The lug pattern is created on the hub, not the rotor.
The wheel and rotor both have to fit over the hub's lug pattern.
If you replaced the hubs, then you could replace rotors and wheels........
mike123 02-20-2007, 08:41 AM I contacted brembo directly they told me they have a kit almost ready they needed like 2 or 3 more orders to start to produce them they said front and rear rotors and calipers oversized for $4000.00 dollars
