I use pretty much the whole Adam's Polishes line. Not cheap, but they're very well known in the Corvette circles. Both my car and Jeep are BB.

Check out Zaino Brothers at www.zainostore.com.

I have used expensive waxes in the past like Pinnacle, and just about everyone's product in between... (I'll admit not Adam's yet) Some do a very good job. But I have yet to find anything beat Zaino. Lower cost, (<$35 for both steps of the wax process) easy to apply, lasts and lasts with a great shine. Can be done on a hot car if needed (I live in FL), no swirls, reduces water spotting to near zero. It is my benchmark product.

I am coming from the NSX forums and we swear by it... search www.nsxprime.com for a full writeup. One guy did a test hood with 6 waxes, left it out in the sun/rain for 6mo and Zaino beat them all... even big buck Zymol.

Clay bar/polish then wax. Always prep the surface to a glass smooth feeling removing all contaminants and smoothing swirls, then final wax. Meguiar's #7 is a good spot polish if you need to remove a blemish, and is available everywhere. One coat of wax at a time is all you need. Meguiar's rep at a Z car club meet pointed out that a 2nd coat atop a fresh coat just re-emulsifies the first... wasting time & money.

Enjoy

I also use Zainos... good stuff. I especially like their leather conditioner. Works great and brings back the "leather" smell!

use a quality paint sealant twice a year, once in spring, once in fall. then just use a spray wax after each wash...cream waxes and polishes dull the finish coat over time.

i'm the computer guy at a car dealership, thats what are cleaning guys recommended to me.

Gloss-it! I did not believe this until I tried it.

Another vote for Zaino! I found it to be the easiest to put on and take off. It doesn't powder like some do and it doesn't require alot of effort to take off. Their Z2 polish smells really good!

Could you buy Gloss-it locally? Or do you have to buy it over the internet.

For the pearl coat I would suggest a good mixture of mud (with gravel) to remove those flakes so it looks like Jet Black! Don't forget a high speed rotary buffer!

Just playin! I haven't done any paint treatment on my Jeep yet, but have had great success with Zaino products on my Z28 over the years. Good luck, black is tough!

I have always zainoed my lightning.. it is great, but it is a ton of work with a lot of differnet applications. My my lighting was a daily driver the zaino didnt last to long. now that it is my garage queen it is fine. The SRT8 is my wifes daily driver, and I just ordered up the adams. I went to an adams demonstration and it looks great and I think it will stand up a lot longer for a daily driver. my opinion garage queen= Zaino, Daily Driver= Adams. Plus adams smells yumo..

I know specifically for black cars that turtle wax just came out with this stuff called "Turtle Wax Black Box". It is a kit with pre-wax, wax, and spray detailer formulated for black cars only. The stuff itself is actually black. I tried it, and thought it worked pretty well.

I've used Zaino for many years on my Dodge Durango and really liked it. I decided to buy a whole kit of stuff from Adam's and it seems to be OK and easier application steps than Zaino. Water still beading after 5 months. I'm going to re-do the Jeep with Adam's again, if it ever stops raining and we get a few weeks of sunshine, instead of a day or two.
