I'm losing about 1/4 quart of Mobil1 0w-40 every 1000 miles. My 07 is stock, never tows, has almost 8k miles, sees 90%/10% highway/city driving, and is mostly driven conservatively. I thought this was a bit high for a new engine. What are you guys seeing?

I have a 2006 7000 miles changed oil every 3000 never lost any oil! always shows max on the dip stick!

my '07 with 6000 miles burns 1/2 quart at 3000 oil change interval.

I have an 06 with 10K miles. I'm down about 1/4 to 1/2 quart every 3K miles.

Mine was down a full quart after 450 miles,so I called the service department at the dealer and gave them hell for not checking the oil before delivery.He said that it is perfectly normal to use that much oil breaking in.I added a quart and at 978 miles it is still right at the full mark.I don't know if I should believe them or not,O well. What are you going to do!!Good Luck.

That does not sound normal to me.

I think it was low when I drove out of the dealership.I didn't think I had to check the oil on a brand new vehicle with 14 miles on it.Glad I did when I did.It hasn't changed in the last 400 or so miles.I'm not worried about it.I just don't like to be lied to.

1/4 to 1/2 quart I wouldnt worry about especially if you drive it hard, 1/4 at 450 miles ide be really worried.

If I dont pound on mine it burns nothing, when I get spirited ill lose maybe a 1/4 every 3000 miles maybe but some does go.

And you were not pushing 420HP and over 370Ibs of torque with the I35, I had a 350Z that I used to push and burn a tad of oil. I can actually tell you how much oil I will burn depending on how hard I push her.

Never over 1/4 quart at 3000 miles though with my SRT8

off topic, but why did you lose the z? cool car. i never drove the 350, but really dug the 90-96 z. it's the best handling car i ever drove.

I lost 1/2 quart in the first 3000 miles. Not a drop after the first oil change and it continues to stay level.
