: Anyone modify these dumb things...
hoseclamp 04-27-2009, 10:29 PM I had no idea when everyone said lame sway bar links they were as bad as these pathetic squirrel-di cked things

I can have them out, bushings removed, and weld on gussets to make them super rigid, no cost of buying sway links. Anyone do this yet, are they just a cheap pot metal that won't hold up?
JJJ93z 04-27-2009, 10:31 PM A lot of people have had good results with the Bwood sways.

I'm just being cheap though :) I also read the links are moved slightly with the Bwoody links, what exactly would be the benefit, thanks for the info by the way!
JJJ93z 04-27-2009, 10:57 PM Are you trying to triangulate both top and bottom? You should try to pick up a used stock set, I bet they could be had for like $20.
Anyone know if the non-srt and commander links the same?
Bang Bang 04-27-2009, 11:19 PM Stop being cheap and get the Bwoody Links. They make a dramatic difference in handling. I have a lot more confidence throwing my Jeep into some serious corners than I did before the Bwoodys.
hoseclamp 04-27-2009, 11:19 PM I thought about using some small angle iron cut to length and attached with a solid bead end to end, so the mid section would be four sided with two pieces of angle, one on each side full length, or even cutting the ends off and attaching to a heavier guage body with larger OD.
"..........factory swaybar links are a weak 5/16 in diameter and the way the factory mounts the passenger link bids the rear swaybar with a 1" offset. We corrected the offset by moving our passenger link inside the oem bracket, and ours are a whopping 7/8 in diameter and custom energy suspension bushings we used to improve handling even more......."
I'll look closer, maybe I can do the same. It won't look as good but it's cheaper and same day........

LOL almost shameful isn't it?

bwoody over charges for there links, they kind of over charge for everything there.
Muellge 04-28-2009, 05:44 AM The offset correction is only for one of the rears everything else fits as is.

Blown-WK 04-28-2009, 07:50 AM or even cutting the ends off and attaching to a heavier guage body with larger OD.
I was thinking of the same thing a while back just never got around to it. You could cut one end off and slide a piece of thick steel tubing over it and weld around both ends. That would be super stout.
hoseclamp 04-28-2009, 10:24 AM $240USD with exchange, duty/taxes, shipping, these will cost me arounf $400cdn, crazy IMO. I figured beefing them being much cheaper for me would be a better idea, but I wasn't sure on the passenger side rear offset correction and how to do it. Anyone got a pic of that or a "description for dummies?":)
hoseclamp 04-28-2009, 10:26 AM Correction, around $370-375Cdn, still steep IMO.
Raist103 04-28-2009, 10:51 AM this this what causes the squeaks from the rear end when driving over any bumps? does the bwoody stop this noise i cant take it.
JJJ93z 04-28-2009, 03:51 PM bwoody over charges for there links, they kind of over charge for everything there.
Thats what you can do when you have a niche market by the balls!
BlackJeepSRT 04-28-2009, 04:13 PM LMAO! Somebody needs to photoshop a stamp that says "squirrel ****ed" on it. :D
