driving home from work today and I am pulling in to my garage and wouldnt you know it....i rub my damn mirror on my garage.. left a nice little rub mark on the mirror.not really noticble unless you look up close. any suggestions on how to remove a rub/scratch????I am so ashamed of myself....I AM AN IDIOT:mad: :mad:

3m fine cut rubbing compound. Try it and see if it works. Worst case scenario is that you'll have to have the cap re-painted. Not the end of the world. Keep your chin up. Of ANY part to damage on a car, mirrors are minor.

I've used billet wheel polish on my bikes little mistakes. It works great !!

From your description it seems clear that the car is total loss. I'd scrap it and buy a new one.

if you can run your finger over the scratch and not feel it, you can probably get it out with some compound. otherwise, you'd probably need to re-paint to get it looking factory.

I would hit it with detailer and clay first, then try the polish/compound if that does not take care of it. Don't you just hate when you're having that kind of day. Its like walking into a door frame that you've passed through thousands of times without incident. Biorhythms or some such nonsense.
