My main question is can we work anymore off the price after all the employee pricing and other incentives? I live in Chicago and looking to buy a loaded SRT8 within the next month or so.

I looked around Chicago and found that there are about 20 SRTs in your area. You should be able to find a dealer there that will give you an SRT with a sticker price of $51,000 for about $40,500-41,000. I ended up going to another city for a better price. Go to Jeep.com and search the new inventory in your area.

Since I am in a good mood today, I decided to help you.

i bought mine in mid February.

msrp was $48,205. every option except rear dvd/hid/htd rear seats package.

paid $38,300

i negotiated my porsche trade in value, from $46 to $48k. Other than that, they came back with the 10 grand off msrp.

good luck!

Of course you can!! Anywhere around $40k is reasonable... I think you could even get one for upper $30's

There is a little room usually. The dealer where I got mine has a fully loaded inferno and may be more willing to talk as things are slow.
Send me a PM if you want the dealer info.

I tried to buy a modern blue from a dealer in Chicago. He would not even give me the rebates I was entitled to and wanted to charge $1,000 to have it delivered.

I also tried to dealer trade for 2 others. The dealers in Chicago thought their SRT8's were "golden" and sought after.

One of the items I always have the dealer include is an oil change package. Since the oil changes are ~$100 a pop, this is a savings to you of $500-$1,200 depending on which package you have them include. They did not want to include this, of course the dealer I bought from did include it.

Maybe you will have better luck than I did. I ended up ordering mine since the Chicago dealers wouldn't budge on anything.

What dealers? I had no problems getting any of the rebates or anything. I didn't worry about the oil changes since I do them myself. I've heard too many stories of the wrong oil going in.

Was it Wickstrom? Which dealer was it. I had the same experience...many dealers acted like they could still sell the SRTs for full price...or close to it. Some were reasonable and gave the appropriate incentives. Chicago dealers (of all makes) are really hit or miss. But that's all over the country.

I would buy one now. Seriously, is $1000 going to make it or break it? If you find one you like, get it. Who knows what's going to happen with inventory, incentives, and production.

The dealer who would not honor an eligible rebate was Mancari's. They would not give me the $750 lease rebate I was entitled to, they insisted I could not receive it. ( I did receive it when I bought, so therefore they were wrong)

My dealer did not give me the names of dealers they were trying to dealer trade with. I know one indicated the Jeep was sold to another dealer when it wasn't. One wanted to keep the hold back on a Jeep with 2,500 miles on it.

There were only 12 Modern Blue SRT8's in the country in February when I was shopping. 5 were around Chicago.

In all fairness, I had a dealer outside of Cleveland (can not remember the dealership's name) offer a loaded '08 for more $ than a loaded '09 with Kicker upgrade.

There is one dealer in Columbus (Byers) that was very helpful and I actually almost bought a black SRT8 from them. I just could not buy a black Jeep. I love the look when the black isclean, but I do not have time to properly take car of it.

Mancari's wasn't very competitive to me either. It's still baffling that some dealers try to withhold rebates or don't know about them.

I agree that it varies by dealer......before I got my leftover 08, I had looked at 09s and for a fully loaded 09 with the Kicker setup I was able to get them down to $39-40k on it.

The answer is yes but you better hurry, EPP ++ ends at the end of the month. You should be able to get better than $10,000 off 0f the Sticker Price but like I said you better hurry.

Thing is I'm pretty sure the EPP ++ will still be around next month. I wont be in the position to finalize a purchase till next month. I don't like to finance things. I rather pay cash for them. Also, I have a feeling the EPP ++ promo will get any extra + comes May 1st. LOL

Even with 0% interest you don't like to finance?

I agree, I paid cash for my last two vehicles. I financed every penny of this though. Liquidity is key and even if I only make 1 percent, it is better than nothing.

My guess is with the BK things good get even juicier with pricing since the government is going to want to see things flying out the door. I guess I will find out in May.

Yep, the $39,100 that the salesmen was pretty sure he could do on a loaded 09 was without tax.

+doc, plates, etc..

+7% tax

OTD price of $42,000-$43,000

Did you ever buy the SRT8? Looks like if you ordered one, you're SOL!! New production is on hold.

^You can usually find one that has what you want...at least in the Chicago area you can (or could when I bought it).

I would do it just for the fact of having my own car ordered and no kids or idiots test driving it and beating on my new SRT8. We all know that if a car has has 30+ miles on it you can expect that at least 2/3 of those miles were WOT. NO GOOD.

You order it to get the color you want when the dealers in Chicago will not sell you their inventory. That's what I did.

I recently purchased mine in January 2009 and I got mine loaded and I got oil changes free for 2 years, rubber floor mats, Employee Pricing and a Rebate of 1K without a trade in. The MSRP was 51K and I paid 41K. It is worth every penny!

This may be true BUT cmon, these engines are pretty good and ANY engine that cannot handle some WOT new or not is not one that I want.

There are varying opinions on this but, there is a school of thought that say that an engine when new must be driven hard when new. This type of break in most of the time makes the engine stronger than one that has been pampered

I usually would order a vehicle like this in the old days, but I decided not to special order a Jeep SRT. If you looked at enough of them you'll notice there's fit and finish issues. If you want a good one start visiting dealerships and make sure the sheetmetal gaps are consistent and the paint has good coverage.

The dealers do NOT allow "kids" to test drive new SRTs.... there will be more than enough idiots beating on it when you take it in for warranty service.

Relax and go find what you want... it's too much of a risk to wait and order one at this point.
