As I stare ay my beast sitting clean and icicle-free I can only help but wonder how you guys are faring with this nasty snow/ice we have up here. I dont mean traction but I am referring to the now rock-hard snow drift and piles which are higher than our fenders. Any horror stories.

I opted to tempt fate by driving my 1993 camry with bald tires. I know how to control this car better than the jeep and if it crashes, I just pull the plate walk away:D

The worst part about this weather are the lazy bas***ds who refuse to clean the ice from atop their vehicle.

I think I counted five damaged vehicles yesterday from ice collision!

The last 3 weeks has been interesting. Yesterday I was driving to work and the SRT was wobbling badly. So bad I thought my wheel was lose. Drove round to my tire guy thinking there was a damaged tire. He found a wedge of ice frozen inside the wheel. This was enough to throw out the balance so badly I thought the wheel was going to fall off. Got home last night blasted the ice out of the wheels and today its back to normal.

I hit a snow marker the other day and slid backwards into a 15 ft plowed drift.

But generally the vehicle is doing fine as long as you drive sensibly. IT IS A JEEP AFTER ALL

So far so good. The only thing bothering me is the rock solid ice chunk frozen on my lower front bumper. Makes my ground clearance like 5 inches!!!

i have to say this weather blows!! My poor jeep, once so clean and smooth is now a giant ball of salt. I agree about the lasy bastards who refuse to clean ice off their cars, almost got killed yesterday trying to avoid an ice attack on the Garden state parkway. I vow never to buy another car during the winter months again!!!

A car on one of the local highways in my area got a huge chunk of ice through their windshield yesterday. It blew off from the car in front of them!! Driver was taken to the hospital.

I typically only take out the GC when the roads are cleared and have dry salty pavement to drive on. Mine's blk, but only for a few hours after I have it washed. If I have a lot of salt build up between washes, I usually spray it down in my garage to get the excess off.

Luckily my baby is parked in the garage. It has been miserable here in Cleveland. I've never even freakin heard of a "Pan Handle Hook". Who comes up with these names. (don't mean to offend any Meteorologists out there :D )
There are so many freakin potholes out here, i wouldn't dare driving my Jeep on these roads. I can't wait for spring, I thought that damn Ground Hog didn't see his shadow. Oh well. Then once Spring/Summers here I will be complaining how freakin hot it is. JMHO.

ditto on the ice chunks thing.... yesterday i was on the Belt Parkway and a
gigantic sheet of ice blew off a minivan probably about 30 feet into the air, exploded into football sized chunks, and rained down on 3 lanes of cars.

Ink Pump:
3 things about your pic. 1) you need some tint on those front windows lol. 2) never realized how massive the rear tires are on an SRT 3) RedRock actually looks pretty cool

Those Ice "Bombs" were all over today. My brother-in-law had a chunk blow off the car in front of him and it smashed the grille of his Expedition to bits today on the SSP.

I had to drive to NJ & CT today and it was like dodging grenades.

I got nailed with a huge one from an oncoming car yesterday. The Jeep is too dirty to tell if there's any scratches from it, but it reminded me why I always try to keep my cars clear before I hit the road.

It's understandably hard in the sort of freeze we've been dealing with, but still...

This has been a real problem the wheels being as wide and 20" snow gets in them and causes them to be out of balance. It took me a few to figure out what was wrong the first time. Just have to clean them out.

The snow looks so beautiful, but I'm glad I don't have to deal with the problems that come with it. Especially ice chunks, as I've never heard of such a thing. It probably topped out at 78 at my house yesterday. He He.

A big chunk of ice came loose from the inside of my right rear tire, and thudded heavily in the wheelwell. I thought the car had been shot! Looking in the rearview, I saw the ice ball scatter from beneath the vehicle, and figure no worries.

I will have a good look this weekend, I guess.

As long as the roads are plowed or packed down there really are no issues.
Snow drifts and piles higher than our fenders don't need to be driven into, go around them or turn around.:p
We recently took our Jeep to New Hampshire to do some sking after they got 2 feet of snow and had no problems at all. ;)
