: whats a decent price for an srt8 jeep?
thinkingabout 04-19-2009, 09:50 AM Thinking about getting an srt8 jeep, but i'm wondering what a good price would be? I built one on the jeep website, so i know options make a big difference, however im still curious what kind of price one could realistically buy one for.
I would also like to know if hids are a good idea? i would not need nav so i was thinking of the option group 1 and 2.
I might wait until the end of the month though to see if dodge goes under though as the canadian union would rather sit on pogee and let the company go under.
I can't believe they make $74/hour, just shows what a waste unions are. overpaid morons, id work for the $55 they are offering. Unions are only good for people who are too lazy to actually work. If a person is an important part of the company there is no need for a union.(case in point how they would rather ruin the company then try to make it successfull) Unions are only good for dead weight. All the big 3 should go under or whatever it takes to get rid of these unions and then those unionized workers can go back to fliping burgers which they would probably get fired from as it would take more skill then most union workers have.
Sorry for rant, anyway what do u guys think is a good price for the jeep? Do u think it would be wise to see if dodge goes under? The deadline is the end of the month.
LAFNGAS 04-19-2009, 12:25 PM are you planning on buying new or looking for used?

They don't actually make $70+ an hour, that is the cost of wage, health benifits, ect. that they receive. They actually make somewhere around $25/hr. I really hope they can both pull through, not looking likely for GM, but if any of them goes under it will mean thousands of lost jobs, from every branch of the auto industry. It will only cause more unstablization in this already horrific economy. So get out there now and get one. If Chrysler does fail then you might not beable to find one.

I'm actually looking for a new one in Alberta. Would prefer the Edmonton area but will travel for a deal :)
If you could pm me what you payed/dealer/salesman and what options you got would be great, as then atleast i would know what kind of ballpark i could get one at.
Thank you.
BlackFlie 04-19-2009, 09:38 PM When i was looking for mine... i Found derick dodge was the best to deal with. They had the best selection and the best pricing.. I found St.Albert dodge was the Worst to deal with... they were actually asking $14,000 higher then what was on the website for the EXACT jeep i took for a test drive (you can look up serial numbers of stock a specific store has so you can see if exactly what your looking for is there.). I was really pissed with st.albert dodge over this cause that would have been my 5th car id of bought there in 4 years... (yes u read that correct) the sales manager actually told me that he was not "going to F'n argue with me over price" They will never see a penny more of my money.
Anyhow... derrick listed msrp on an 08 at the time for 53g.... they went as low as 49 tax in.. so i thought that was pretty good...

I bought my SRT at Derrick, and I am very happy. I think I got a pretty killer deal too.
She had 10K on her and they were asking 45,000 ( 07' / 10K ), and I thought that be a bit much. So I pitted them against Great West, who had/has a 08' black SRT, brand new. ( MSRP $63K, with rebates and a little negotiating, I could get her for $47,000 )
I told Derrick I could buy a year newer and zero k for $47,000, but I really wanted the Steel Blue Pearl one, as I had never seen a blue one before.
So ... ... ... The best thing I ever did? I walked away. 2 days later Derrick phones me up to ask if I bought the Black one from Great West?
I told them I am still looking for a Steel Blue Pearl SRT8. Again I enforced that I won't pay that much for a used SRT, when I can get a new one for only $2000 more.
The short of it? We hammered out a deal in the mid 30's, and I took home my new Steel Blue Pearl SRT8 Cherokee!
And .. .. .. I LUV'S MY SRT ! !
cjg454ss 04-20-2009, 02:02 PM i got my 06 in 08, it had 15k miles on it and it was 25k, i thought that was a little high but i got 18k trade in on my 2005 hemi limited with 50k miles on it. all in all i think i got about 20k in mine. 18k trade in was too high. 45k for these things is crazy and not worth it in my opinion. I bought mine for my wife, and she drives it everyday and love it. test drive one before you get it for sure. i personally like the braking and handeling, the acceleration is bla, it pulls decent off the line then peaters out. it will beat alot of other suvs and honda though. they are fast for sure, but stil an SUV.
RedRockerSRT 04-20-2009, 10:29 PM I bought my 07 this year in February with 24k on it for 33k.
I've decided to sell my '07 with 57,000km. Loaded including Nav, DVD, sunroof. Asking high 30's. Paid $64k. Anyone interested, please email me.

 it seems like this suvs take a hard initial hit but seem to settle in the mid 23-28k range.
