The old style 2WD switch will give you RWD, but at the expense of frying a transfer case. The clutch packs do not disengage when power is secured from the TC becuase the TC is designed to ALWAYS have a portion of torque going to the front axle.

How about a 2WD switch that integrates with the stock transfer case wiring harness to reverse drive the tripple-planetary gear seat in the opposite direction? Doesn't sound too hard for some of our 10lb brains.

You could swith to 2wd after launch and beneifit from less drivetrain loss from running through the transfer case.

you are still spinning the front end... so i dont know how much it would help... i mean there are no "hubs" to lock in or out...

*Shut off the beast before the burnout.
*Start engine and engage the TC button.
*Creep into the burnout box. The transfercase clutches will be disengaged.
*Burnout....the transfercase will "search and find" the clutch pack at 20.5mph

At least you will have a "quickie" burnout up until 20.5 mph.

Any other "switch" etc. will throw you into limp mode and you will need to recycle your key to get it happy again.

We will never get a programmer interested in helping out the tiny number of guys would could use this.

Is this true for stock transfer cases too bill? I assume by "engage the TC button" you mean it will be on when the vehicle is restarted and you will push it to disengage the TC so the light on the dash is lit?

Nope sorry, I guess I was not very clear.
Restart the beast and THEN push in the Mr. Squiggle button. Light in dash on.

Its worth a shot....burnout before the transfer case goes through its test cycle.

Simply remove your front wheels and convert your Jeep into SEGWAYstyle:rolleyes:

Manual hub conversion, have one hub unlocked, all front drive will go to unlocked side, after burn lock in and go, maybe a buddy standing by can do the hub?

I'd like to up the ante, How about a 2 way switch, one position for true 2WD as stated above, and another for true 4WD for the launch with the TC fuse pulled? Best of both worlds. No traction control, and a true 4WD launch. Even better a MPH window switch that automatically switches from 4wd to 2wd at a selectable speed.
