: Wheels for the SRT8 Jeep. What is the problem.
SLIPPIN 02-14-2007, 08:31 AM I can't get anyone to even talk to me about 22" wheels and tires for my Jeep. i have asked all the big name dealers and even the guys a Giovanna and no one will even respond to my questions about a set of wheels and tires. Not eves a go away, you bother me kid. Super buy offers about 98374625 wheels they say will fit, but won't answer any questions about any of them. I am not going to drop the scratch on a set of wheels and tires just to get them and have them stick out 8" like a set of Daytons on a Mustang! I give up!
maxxjeep 02-14-2007, 08:45 AM Try giving Asanti Wheels a shout, they made a one-off set for my dad's (yeah we both have this car) and the set is beautiful...He has had some tire pressure issues though, but they still did it for him. I'm sure they would help you get anything you want.
Don't go through Superbuy..... you can eventually buy through them (they have an exclusive agreement with Asanti on some of Asanti's rims), but start directly with manufacturers. So are the folks at WTW not even responding to you? Giovanna does have a style or two that can be made to work, as do Dropstars, Asanti, TIS, and a few others. With one piece, cast wheels, your options are definitely slim. If you're interested in any multi-piece wheel, they can easily be made to your spec. If you are getting the runaround from WTW, then in your emails, ask to speak with Diko directly. I've had great dealings with them.
Truthfuly, your best bet is to find a custom shop that deals in very high end aftermarket gear (if you're in a city with pro athletics.... what shop do the athletes go to?). Go to that shop and tell them your predicament. They will find wheels to fit, and deal directly with the manufacturers.
Mine had to be custom built to spec, but as with any multi-piece wheel manufacturer, that is what they're used to doing.

Where are you located? I use a shop in NY that deals with all high end vehicles and brands of wheels. If you are interested send me a message and I'll hook you up with a contact.
SLIPPIN 02-14-2007, 11:59 AM I am out in Oregon, and most of our athletes are in the slammer! I tried WTW, but no response. All of the shops around here are small time, and don't seem to be ambitious enough to help me out. GE2, who did you get your wheels from, and how did you get them to make you a set?
RonConcept 02-14-2007, 12:00 PM Jnk...i Tried To Send You A Pm For Info On A High End Place In Ny Hope It Went Thourgh. Also I Will Want To Ask You About Starting A Web Site For My Shop, Ron
Slippin..... I'm right up the road from you, in Seattle. The shop I do all of my stuff through is just outside of Seattle, in Bellevue. They are familiar with all the specs for our rides, and they had no problem getting my rims through Davin. In fact, Davin sent a rep out to get the specs in person.
The shop is called CarNutzCustoms. 425/641-7000 (ask for Joel).
SLIPPIN 02-14-2007, 02:58 PM Thanks, i will give him a shout. I think i have to have Dvinci Gustos now that I have been shopping!
laddcruzer 02-14-2007, 04:51 PM Hopefully attached are a few pics of the new wheels and tires I just installed. They are 20x9 and 10 inch Forgeline light weight (27.5 pds) 3 piece alloys with Toyo Proxes tires. (265/50 and 295/45) They feel and handle great and fill out the wheel well perfectly. I went with powder coated with polished lips. They were a bit expensive. Wheels, tires, sensors, balanced, and shipped-$5020.84.

AlexT 02-14-2007, 06:16 PM Those wheels look really nice, but your tire size choices picked up about 1.5 inches in diameter, effectively changing your gearing.
Alex
Very nice choice of wheel. They look great on the silver!
And Ladd.... I looked for my sheet of paper that had the stocker weights,a nd couldn't find it. I'm sorry! I do beleive they were somewhere around 38-42 pounds each though (but just ask my wife... I have a HORRIBLE memory)
kramsay1234 02-14-2007, 07:05 PM very nice looking wheel choice.

timster 02-14-2007, 08:37 PM I like how it fills out the wheel well. What can be done to get the gearing back to stock, besides changing the tires?
Hollywood619 02-15-2007, 06:26 AM Don't forget the guys at DPE (DP Engineering), they have a lot of great styles and not only have an awesome product, but great customer service.
StageFright 02-15-2007, 10:06 PM I know people buy wheels to change the look but I have not seen anything I like better than the stockers.
BTW iForged makes some nice wheels and so does Complete Custom Wheel.
