: rough idle

I have noticed while at a stop light that the idle seems a bit rough. I was wondering if this is a normal characteristic of the Hemi or if mine has a miss or something else.

I do not see a big fluxuation in the RPM so i also wonder if it a balance issue of a rotational mass i.e. flywheel or harmonic balancer.

Any input on this is greatly appreciated.

While mine is not sewing machine smooth, I'd say it's american V-8 smooth. I guess it depends on what you consider "a bit rough".

I maybe nit picking, as i am used to 4&6 cyl imports.

Its just a slight bounce every other second or so.

Mine is like that too. Had the dealer check when I first bought. No problems. It's a "hot" engine, guess it's to be expected. Runs fine as wine though when hitting the gas.

Exactly!!! NO problems while the pedal is stuck on the floor, which is more often then idle

Have you popped the hood and looked at your engine during idle? The engine looks like it's idling rougher than other cars I have owned. Or are FastSRT8GC and I alone on this?

Mine seems a bit rough sometimes also. I won't worry until it is near warranty expiration as it does not affect driveability.

slightly different spin on this topic; Anyone ever notice the warm-up time on this big HEMI?? Even in the summer, it seems like 15 minutes!

Mine sometimes runs rough, but it looks like I need to take in in...

Was just talking about this last night, if it's cold out it seems even longer. My beater '98 T100 warms up before I'm out of my neighbourhood.
