I am interested in cleaning the cover/Insulator underneth my hood.
Has anyone done this?
What material is it made of?
Would this even be possible to wash with soap? or maybe a good spray down...

Don't have many miles, but have been using hot water and cloth as well.
I dont know what it is
It looks white. It seems to be comming from my belts? a small reservoir with a black cap looks like its holding the solution. It sits by the battery and it gets sprayed by the white stuff the most...It looks like the belts are flinging it up
It wipes right off...

Be careful washing it. Don't soak it with a hose b/c it will become so heavy with water the hood won't stay up. Ask me how I know and I would show you pictures of a knot on my head from my hood closing if I had them!! Damn it hurt. Took about 2-3 days to dry out finally. Wipe down like suggested above.

Have you been driving in rain alot? It could be water also from when you washed it. The radiator vanes will hold water and when the electric fan comes on, it sucks it up and sprays it all over. Whenever I wash my Jeep, I hit my fan switch and pull the water out of the radiator vanes before I pull it in. Your Jeep is too new to have a belt come apart. I had 46K on mine OEM belt when I changed it doing my UDP and it looked like it have PLENTY of life left on it.
I will post a pic of this mess to show you guys. I hope what you are saying is the case. Im honestly not too worried about it. Specially since I have the 8yr 80K certified warranty ;)
Gimme a day or 2 for the pics...
