I just picked up my new SRT8. I love it. After returning home, I noticed a strange noise when shutting the car off. Kind of a servo/vacuum sound.The sound came form underneath the motor area. I started it a couple times at the dealer with the salseman and it made no strange noise when I turned it off. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks.

mine has an odd sound if it shuts off on it's own. IE when I let it warm up and forget about it, or don't put the key in in a minute, it almost makes a grinding sound, is your's similer? sounds somewhat like criieerrrkkk! (seriously).

No grinding noise. It's hard to describe except that it occurs just after the motor shuts off. I haven't used the remote yet, so I don't know if the noise will occur if I don't put the key in and turn in the appropriate time.

yea mine use to make the cerrrkkk noise but i havent noticed it anymore.

Its the transfer case actuator and is normal. Read the attached link and you will see...

The more you use the search function the more you will find. Like one of my favorites....how to stop the seatbelt binging sound when it is not hooked up. Not that I drive around with no seatbelt, but after I take it off to enter my underground garage, there is nothing more annoying than listening to that binging until I finally park.
