: OH WOW... Dealer experience gone bad!
JTSRT 04-07-2009, 09:18 PM So I am fortunate enough to have some warranty work done (on the side). I am having a transfer case swap under warranty and then Im paying for a full tranny flush. Well I haven't heard from them all week, supposed to be done monday so I thought I would drive out there and check on it. YUP, caught a few techs out in the back beating on my jeep. Doing short launches over and over. Then they drove it in the shop and as Im pulling in to make sure its actually mine, I hear the whole damn hige shop vibrating and thunder coming out of it. I walk, briskly to the shop and catch 1 guy getting out and another getting in it. I make sure its mine via tag and damn near lose my SHI&..... It literally took everything I had not to drag both of these grown a$$, irresponsible idiot techs out of the shop to the street and deny their family an open casket! I tried not to yet - jeep is still idling mind you. The lil idiot who was about to have his turn from scared shi$less and frozen solid, left it running. I said all the usual crap like how would you like it I took your vehicle out and beat the hell out of it here in front of you, etc.... This work is secret so I can't tell them how much $$$ I have in it. Then I walk out and call the manager who is taking care of all this and told him how much I appreciate the fact that he's doing me a huge favor but if in return the techs get to beat on my ride then he could yank the transfer case and I would go get it. He called back and assured me it would be handled and he was PISSED! He left, gave specific instructions to a guy as to who was to know, work on it, drive it, etc. and noone listened to him and apparently thought they would have fun while the boss was out of town.
I told him I wasn't trying to get anyone fired but my jeep is not free for others to beat on at my expense.
Oh well,
JT
SoonToBeSRT 04-07-2009, 09:25 PM I'm not sure if I 100% understood what you were saying, you sounded pretty enflamed though, must have been as you were writing this too haha, but I think you were trying to say is some idiot techs were ripping your Jeep out back. So even though the tcase was getting exchanged doesnt make it ok, could have been part of the testing haha ;) jk bro, thats sucks, just dont do business there anymore, find a reputable dealer to do work. GL
SkyeHighSRT8 04-07-2009, 09:27 PM WOW....
I really don't know how I would have reacted to that. It would be bad...
I can't say I'm suprised though. Our whole culture is decaying at a very scary rate. No one in a custom service position these days knows how to behave, or respect a customer.
BlackJeepSRT 04-07-2009, 09:36 PM Oh man. I would have flipped out. I hate leaving mine at the dealer, but I try to have a certain level of respect and trust. I thought for a second they were testing it out, maybe once or twice, but over and over? That's overboard.
BOYCHIKS 04-07-2009, 09:46 PM Wow, that's some f'ed up sh!t. I wouldn't imagine walking into that. Last time I had mine at the dealer, I just stayed there with the car for a few hours to make sure everything was going well.
JTSRT 04-08-2009, 05:48 AM Sorry about the typing guys, I was tired and trying to hurry up and write it. LOL
Yea, im really disappointed but in all, the manager that was handling it is a great guy and unfortunately wasn't there but will be today when I go get The Beast. This evening it will be safe in my garage - hopefully fixed so I can complete the tuning process.
JT
Vinnysrt8 04-08-2009, 06:02 AM Wow that sucks i would of freaked out
SRT8 4 J 04-08-2009, 08:08 AM you have more patience then I would have in that situation. When I do go to the dealer, I wait for my Jeep cuz I don't trust anybody. Everybody knows what it is- and they all wanna beat on it-oh i mean drive it :)

Sorry to say but i totally agree with you on that on Sky, its insane
a-kon 04-08-2009, 09:21 AM I personally think they should be fired. Recession or not they failed and it is time for someone else to get a stab at it.
WBSRT 04-08-2009, 09:28 AM That right there is unacceptable. Im pissed just thinking about it.
1MEANGT 04-08-2009, 10:10 AM If I caught some clown in a dealership treating my truck like that they would have to surgically remove my foot from their ass. I just don't understand why people cannot respect other peoples property. These are not inexpensive little toys.
TonySRT8 04-08-2009, 10:16 AM I really hate to leave my jeep anyplace. Reminds me of a post last year where someone caught a dealer tech taking his jeep for a triple digit joy ride with some type of software that logs speed, time, and location.
It would be nice to have that for those days.
I don't know if I could of controlled myself as well as you did.
veyronSRT8@TTCreations 04-08-2009, 11:31 AM based on what i have seen and expect from dealerships nowadays, i'd say this is on par. i am seriously looking to install an interior surveillance system in my jeep just for cases like these. this way when i drop it off anywhere i will be able to monitor what is going on with my Jeep...those that F up are in for a big surprize, not to mention one BIG beatin'.
PROBABLE CAUZ 04-08-2009, 12:38 PM my truck is at the dealership right now getting a new transfercase put in. i hope no one is dogging out my truck. i know i would be pissssed. i would have asked to speak to the owner and let him know what his employees are doing with customer vehicles. heads would roll:mad::mad::eek:

Problem is the first head to roll would be the Service Manager who is allowing Warranty work on a modified vehicle. Especially a Transfer case swap (Big$$) and if the engine is modded the MM act would NOT apply as the increased engine power could cause the transfer case to fail. Warranty Fraud is something any Manufacturer would not take lightly. Especially now with the Government bailout help.
hawkman996 04-08-2009, 06:03 PM No matter what the work they are doing on whatever vehicle for whatever reason an employee of a dealership or shop should never abuse a customers vehicle. Their actions should warrant severe discipline. I would not have been able to control my anger in that situation. It is sad that people can no longer respect others or how hard they work to get the things they enjoy.

University Dodge has a Viper Mechanic with good feedback who usually tests all the high performance cars; you should be ok.....

COULD - BUT MOST TRANFER CASES ARE REPLACED ON STOCK VEHICLES!!! Those that are modded have not shown to be the cause of transfer case wear. You must work at a dealer and if you do too FU&^% bad!!! I can't even get my DAMN air conditioner fixed at a dealer cause I have a FU*&%^* 426 hemi. WANNA TELL ME HOW THAT FU*%& MATTERS YOU Cu*&! The dude did me a favor, yes and you are stating the obvious GENIUS! I don't care if he saved my life, NOONE and I mean NOONE TAKES MY SH*& FOR A JOYRIDE WITHOUT MY god(*&^ PERMISSION, UNDERSTAND THAT CHERRY!?!?!
How would you like it if they drove your crap, slow a$$ jeep like that. How about when you pick it up you find out they drove it 200 FREAKIN miles and took it up to 142 MOFO MPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do anesthesia for a living and to me the same type of behavior would be if I put your mother or daughter to sleep and them fondled her!!! How would you like that... Even if she didn't have insurance and I got called in the middle of the night to do the case cause she's some illegal alien, does that make it right!?
peace out SMURF~!
JT - Oh by the way Im in Houston if you have a problem PLEASE feel free to come on by the house, I'll be glad to have a chat in my front yard about this issue and your ignorance CHAMP!

Hey J Chill, I Think all he is saying is its freaking hard to get any dealer to do warranty work on a mod'ed machine. And Now with the Idiots molesting your Ride like that, The manager is the one who could hear it for doing warranty work on a mod'ed car, Which i doubt, Im sure the service manager didnt put on paper " GCSRT8 426".

Thanks Chris, the kicker is the damn thing still makes the sound. I had to beat the hell outta it to get it to run decent tonight and the idle is all jacked up.
200 miles bro - and 142mph! That is beyond insane bro...We're pretty forgiving in the south but I'll tell you this - I hope some other southerner will be 'giving' him (whoever drove my jeep) some forgiveness because I will not!

Chill man. I never said what they did was right, I was simply stating that it is a f#$%^D up situation, and that the guy that is doing you a favor could also get rolled into this mess and lose his job as well. Unless HE is the one that was beating on your Jeep, that would be a shame, and in fact is probably why people will not stick out there necks to help others. I'm sure you would not want him to lose his job over this. As for the A$$ clowns that were joy riding, damn straight they should get fired.
If you read through any of my old posts, I have posted in the the midwest forum, that I have found a local dealership that had no problems repairing my Modded SRT under warranty, so I know what is going on, and I too would be upset if my SRT was NOT fixed, and beat on when I dropped it off.
Oh and on my SLOW ASS Jeep ran a 11.88 at Rt 41 this week
Oh and that would be Papa Smurf to you:D

well actually i didnt take it to university dodge. i brought it to massey yardley chrysler jeep and they have been awesome. i just picked up my truck last night. it was tucked away in the back so no one could get to it. made me feel so much better:D
JTSRT 04-09-2009, 07:29 AM JT-how did you find out they took it to 142 mph?
Dashawk 'valet' option. It records highest data and can be password protected so it can't be reset. I zeroed it out when i dropped it off.

BTLFED 04-09-2009, 08:33 PM JT, You need to send Racerat a PM. I dont know if you guys recall this but she had a 03 Cobra that she took to a dealer for service. The Techs at the dealer posted all over SVTPerformance about them taking the car up to 150+ and nothing was wrong and called her names. She was directed to the post and then got all sorts of free crap from the dealer. This post on SVTP drew all sorts of car people to the site, Go Kart owners to Ferrari owners were applauding her for busting these *****s for beating the crap outta her ride. I wish I had a link to the post, it was a classic and like 100 pages long.
