06's or 07's it doesnt matter, I cant wait to pack on more miles on my car and do another gtech 0-60 to see if the engine does get stronger as the mileage goes up - I remembering hearing that one of the strongest 6.1L motors has around 42k on it. Lx platform but still a 6.1L

Well, no question you're getting your use out of it. :D

At what point does your monthly fuel bill exceed your payment?

LOL
My wife loves to use it for her real estate when she has more than 1 client riding with her. Alright, i drive it ALOT also. After all, it is about 1 1/2 hours to Rockingham drag strip.

About the fuel, never looked at the bill at the end of the month, surely it can not compare with the mod bill...especially some of the crap that I thought would work and doesn't!

I am getting close to 3,000 miles and just picked it up Dec 22. What is happening to me? I usually put no miles on my vehicles because I like to keep them low. Something just pulling me toward the driver seat...

I see some of you chiming in are riding in 06's also, so here's mine.

Had it since late Jan. 06, just past 24,000 miles now. No issues, no squeaks or rattles, and believe it or not, a great SRT mod friendly dealer. Sealed the windshield for the buzz I didn't even have, flashed the tranny, and I dump the oil and filter every 3500 to 5000 miles depending on driving habits.....and it just keeps on trucking. Lovin every minute of it.

(let me add for those looking ahead, my tires are wearing perfectly, and probably have at a minimum 35% tread left. Can't complain)

Might see an 09 in my future.....

Teda,

Congrats on the trouble free miles!

Regarding your tires, that is good news and way better wear than the GY F1s IMO. One question, have you noticed the tires getting much louder with wear? This is something that drove me nuts with the F1s.

Thanks!

Know what you mean about the f1's. Some guys in the M community like them, but those I personally know have made the same comment....louder and harder riding as miles progress.

To date, I have noticed no increase in tire whine, or hum, or loudness overall. Don't seem to ride any harder either. Hopefully they continue that way....

New to forum but I have an '07 with about 4550 thus far. Taking a trip to GA this weekend from VA so the miles will be climbing with the fun of the HEMI.

Teda,

What kind of oil have you been using for your changes?

Been using 15-50 Mobil for quite a while now. Tow a lot. Will say it might generate 4-6 lbs more pressure and does run a little cooler. Have noticed no adverse effects on gas mileage. Live in Fl., and most distance runs are to GA and VA. Not as often in winter months..Runs to New England area are made in summer months, so extreme cold temperatures have not been a factor for me.

Here are a couple of good links.

First is from LX forums, but pertains to 6.1

2nd is general discussion on 15-50

I remembering hearing that one of the strongest 6.1L motors has around 42k on it. Lx platform but still a 6.1L

I made that statement. I know the local 300c SRT8 owner personally, and at the NATS, he ran 12.5/12.6 (in the middle of summer!) with only the Mopar CAI, which he claims actually detrimentally affected HP by 5 ponies, but he kept it for aesthetic purposes.

The engineers commented only 300 miles are needed to "break-in" the 6.1, but because the engine is so stiff, 40,000+ miles may be needed to fully "loosen-up" the engine.

May be hard to believe, but anyone the Midwest is welcome to come to the track...
