Ok so I have solved the header bolt issue, Thanks KOOKS! I solved the motor mount issue, Thanks me! (YOU SUCK WESTBURY) But im still getting a rattle from somewhere and its driving me nuts from 2500 rpm to 1000 rpm on the down side under light throttle.

So last nite I isolated it it was coming from the right side (passenger side) under the valve cover. So this morning my MISSION if I choose to accept it was to FIND THIS RATTLE cuz its driving me nuts. I get under check the header bolts, all ok, all mounts, all ok. Any damn bolt etc was checked all tight. I pull all the coils off and remove all the plugs on the passenger side which I must say was pretty easy and I learned alot about my car today. All plugs are seated good, look good and are tight in the head. So the plugs being loose etc was not it.

I prop a bat between the seat and the gas pedal and move the seat up until the throttle is at 1700 rpms and wait, sure enough there is the rattle its coming from inside the valve cover and I can duplicate this rattle with NO problem. The same side that is in my sig.

So I call Erik from the OC and let him listen to it and he say sounds like you have a bad valve spring, I agree like I have a choice Erik ide like to thank you for your knowledge and help today much appreciated and first beer is on me when me meet and alot more after my friend

So yea it sucks, but I learned alot today. I learned I LOVE WORKING ON MY CAR, and if I had all the necessary tools ide fix this myself or if Erik was closer ide let him do it mans a damn gear head But ill take it to my new dealer duplicate the problem and let them fix it.

So I have a bad valve spring and im still smiling, thats a miracle in itself. So my baby sits in my garage awaiting surgery, I miss her so.

And remember guys I have a VERY early build SRT8, if you are getting a rattle like this check under your valve covers, just some FYI.

Inferno, can you please tell us your date of build, and perhaps your build sequence (last 6 of the VIN) number?

Thanks mucho!

Seems to be more of a problem here lately. The HEMI shop has come across broken keepers and such on stock heads. I personally think it is a tempering issue with the springs and maybe the keepers as well, making them brittle with more use.

Ok guys here is the update on the noise from my right side head. My buddy who works there called me and told me he would be pulling the head within the hour so I raced over there to help, not that he needs it, I just wanted to see the procedure from a real TECH not those jerkoffs at stupidbury.

First before we did anything I duplicated the noise to all the techs and they ALL agreed there is something up inside the head, it actually sounded like a bird chirping is the best way to describe it. So we pulled all the coils off the plugs dont need to be removed to take the cover off. We procede to take the cover off and start looking around. My first impression was damn all the valve springs look GREAT and the rocker arm is all intact, and the head looks spotless inside, I was very impressed with the head internals. So my friend starts snooping around and finds a clip that has made 3 marks up the rocker arm about 3/4 of an inch from where the clip should be, look at the attached pics and you will see what I mean.

SO what was happening at low rpms 1000 to 1700 this clip would run up and down the rocker arm and make the whisteling noise I was hearing. YES!!!!! Problem found, now tommorow there going to call DCX And see what they want to do about it, there either going to replace the clip or the rocker assembly, either way I was very happy it was not the valve springs or the rocker arms.

Also Im waiting to see what there going to do about the rotors there grooved to sh*t the new C-tek pads have helped but the OEM pads screwed my rotors up bad.

Also my tech was able to find the correct nut and washer for my motor mount and he ordered that for me to and it came in today and he showed me it. Not that abortion that those jerkoffs at westbury did. BTW my credit card company just gave me back my money from that stupidbury service visit I put into dispute. Eat a D*ck you AHOLES! As you can see I cant stand anyone one from that dealership.

So all in all im pretty happy right now, the service was and still is EXCELLENT, anyone want service to there SRT8 go to Star Jeep on Jamaica Avenue in Queens, so far the BEST service department I have run accross and ask for Elias, he is my friend and a technician there, he is the only one who works on my car. STAR Jeep Kudos for being a miles above the rest of the dealers out there. Ill update as I know more tommorow.
