Well as some of you know I have recently put the vortech on my Jeep and made great power. I found out I have a hurt piston probably due to rushing the tune before spring feast. It still runs but sounds like it backfires, so I am in the market for a new engine. I will be calling multiple shops tom or in the upcoming days but what do you guys recommend forged 6.1 or 426?

If money is not an issue then I would go with the 426 man. Sorry to hear about your engine. As I recall from your posts before the piston was already damaged prior to the Vortech install. Right? Good luck finding an engine man!

your misfire is due to a closed plug. You can pull that plug out and regap it and you will eliminate the mis-firing. Whether you go with a 6.1, 6.4, or 7.0 you will be limited to 700 crank hp with that blower. The only difference between the 3 blocks is the amount of power they make when not in boost. The 392 will cost the same as the 426 as they both require boring/honing of the block. If a machine shop is skipping the align boring of the caps, they shouldnt be regardless of the condition of the block.

Forged 6.1L: $5600
Forged 6.4L: $6150
Forged 7.0L: $6150

Those are rough retail numbers for our blocks which includes 3/36,000 warranty, ARP Main/Head Studs, Clevite Bearings, Fully Blueprinted, Wiseco Pistons, K-1 Rods, K-1 Crank, and Melling Oil Pump.
