While the TCS in our jeeps is pretty effective, I do miss having a 4wd lock mode for use in deeper snow and ice covered roads. The TCS cutting in and out is making me sea-sick ... can't have everything I suppose.

yes, it's definately not like my wrangler in the snow/ice. the one time i was out in the snow/hard pack i pressed the button to turn off the traction control & shifted manually. it seemed less herky-jerky driving that way.

I did that yesterday at 6:30 am in the 2 inches of virgin light powder we got in my desolate neighborhood. Yeeee haaaa.

I feel this car drives alot better in the snow with the TCS off. It doesnt cut out all the time and its still in 4wd, its really smooth with it off and alot of fun. so far i havent really felt out ofconrol ever witht the TCS off. if its snowing i always turn it off unless i get on a free way, then i turn it back on because of the high speeds.

We had our first (and probably last) heavy snow fall here in the UK - as usual every things grinds to a halt !!

Took our the SRT and it handled very well in the un-treated back roads. UK has Pirelli Scopion's on them - these were the same I had fitted to my last ML. I have found they are a good all round tyre.

My tip : I found starting off (using manual shift) without TC on then switching back works best.

Next job is to give it a good wash underneath to get that salt off !
