Can you confirm your rear fog light is activated by the second pull-out on the stalk? Or is there a dash switch?
I need to add rear fog capability to meet EURO inspection requirements. I'd prefer a dash switch rather than messing with the steering column.
The aftermarket switches are soo ugly...unless someone has a better idea. Has to be visible to the driver and lit when lights are on.
Thanks,
Smash

geiger cars put a fog switch on the dash left side
it is under the steering wheel so not really visible but looks quite stock
After I passed technical controle I switched back to American light configuration en removed the aweful reversing light. Haven't had any problems with cops so far. Somebody told me that Belgium is the only european country where the american lights setup is allowed.

No, the pull switch on the lights column is for the front fogs. The rear foglight switch is to the right of where the "INFORMATION CENTER" logo is in the centre stack on the US models. This is a push on push off switch. The rear fogs on the Euro versions can only be activated when the sidelights are on and the front fogs are on, or when the headlights are on the rear fogs can be used as well.

They can fix it that it works with the stock pull-out. Also for Germany specs the brake lights need to be modified but that causes often problems ie. when you're standing at the red light pushing your brakes you'll get several alarms messages. One needs to stop the engine and restart.
The company customtronix.com in sweden make a small add on that avoids these problems. They also convert the american navigation system to Europe.
Good luck with it

Perfect - thanks! Just what I was looking for - I'll go order from the dealer. I just wasted an hour on the internet when you guys posted the answer here in 10 minutes!
I hope the taillight conversion isn't bad - I think I can get that worked out fairly easily...although the housings will be 100 Euros apiece, I'll bet.
Thanks again for the advice...yeah too bad the NAV won't work but I'm ok with the Garmin on my ceiling mount, plus get the camera warnings with it so all is good.

All,
OK I visited a (German) dealer here last week and crawled around an '06 and an '08 Grand Cherokee. Both rear fog systems work like Maansy indicates above - there is another 'twist' to the regular headlight stalk that activates headlights, front fogs, and finally rear fogs. There were no center dash switches (as in the picture from MIKESRT8 above) nor was he able to find any center dash light switches in the parts ordering system.
But, there is no way I'm adding a Euro stalk to my Jeep so I still need a center switch (that looks stock, as in MIKESRT8 picture) that will fit an '08. The switches from the 05-07 are different than the '08+, since the 08+ dash is the updated design.
I wonder if the UK dealers have a slightly different parts system with this switch as an option? So, MIKESRT8, any chance you can see if the UK dealers stock an add-on switch for the 08 models? Would you be willing? Many thanks, I'll buy you an IPA when I move up there.
I'll try and call the Bury St Edmunds dealer tomorrow if I have time, but I won't be in the UK again until Apr 13 to get by there.
Thanks again for all the suggestions. I have also learned that I will need to run a wire out through the firewall and then all the way under the Jeep for the rear wiring - the rear harness is routed under, instead of inside, the passenger compartment! It seems all the wires in the interior of the Jeep enter the passenger compartment through the firewall. Must be a Jeep thing...for stream fjording or something....
