Guess we all have our own little stories... our own little events when we drove our rig off the dealer lot, out of the previous owners driveway etc

HOW WELL DO YOU REMEMBER the first day

WAS IT IMPULSE or very well thought out?

or maybe it was both and a dash of some mind games like my experience :)

I WILL TRY TO KEEP IT SHORT... BUT AFTER I LOOK BACK AT IT ITS A PRETTY GOOD STORY :) AND ALL TRUE

SO ONE DAY MY GIRLFRIEND SAYS "I WANT TO BUY A JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE"

I SAY "WELL IF YOU ARE GOING THAT ROUTE YOU MAY AS WELL GO WITH THE JEEP GCSRT8"

SHE SAYS "WHATS AN SRT8"?

i SAY " WELL.. ITS THE SAME THING... JUST A FEW MORE BELLS AND WHISTLES.. BIGGER WHEELS... BETTER SEATS ETC"

SO A FEW WEEKS GO BY AND SHE STARTS LEANING TOWARDS A BMW B/C SHE THINKS SHE WANTS A CAR INSTEAD

WELL ONE SUNNY SATURDAY WE ARE HANGING AND I SAY... 'YA KNOW WHAT... ? WE SHOULD JUST GO TO SOME DEALERS FOR THE HECK OF IT AND SEE IF THEY HAVE ANY BIMMERS SO YOU CAN GET A HEAD START ON YOUR PURCHASE IF YOU REALLY ARE SERIOUS ABOUT GETTING ONE"

SHE AGREES...I JUMP ONLINE TO FIND SOME BMW DEALERS AND OFF WE GO

SO ON THE WAY TO THE BMW DEALER WE HAPPEN TO PASS A DEALERSHIP ABOUT A MILE BEFORE OUR DESTINATION.... THERES THIS BLACK SRT8 UP ON A PLATFORM... ITS THE ONE THAT SPINS... ITS RIGHT OUT FRONT BY THE STREET AND OBVIOUS THEIR CAR THEY USE TO GRAB ATTENTION...

QUICKLY SHE POINTS OUT... "WOW... WTF IS THAT...? I LIKE THAT TRUCK UP THERE... "

I SAY....'OH.. THATS FUNNY... THATS ACTUALLY A JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE... ITS THE ONE WITH THE LARGER WHEELS AND BETTER SEATS I WAS MENTIONING TO YOU... THATS THE SRT8 MODEL..."

MEAN WHILE IM UNDER MY BREATH IM LIKE... 'FCKIN A... THAT THING IS SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK.....

WELL WE KEEP ON DRIVING AND RIGHT UP THE ROAD IS A BMW DEALER... WE TAKE A PEAK AND SHE DOESNT SEE ANYTHING SHE LIKES... ACROSS THE STREET IS AN AUDI DEALER AND AGAIN NOTHING REALLY GRABS HER ATTENTION...

SO I SAY " OK... LETS HEAD TO ANOTHER BMW DEALER IN THE NEXT TOWN...........

WELL BEFORE I CAN REALLY FINISH WHAT I WAS SAYING SHE GOES

"WHAT ABOUT THAT JEEP ? LETS GO LOOK AT THAT..."

SO THAN I COULDNT HOLD BACK ANY LONGER....

I SAY... " I TELL YA WHAT... IF YOU EVER DECIDE TO BUY A JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ONE DAY I WILL GO HALVES WITH YOU IF YOU BUY THE SRT8 MODEL..."

HERE I AM THIINKING THATS SO PERFECT FOR ME B/C HER AND I HAVE TOTALLY DIFFERENT SCHEDULES AND I COULD HAVE THE RIG FOR THE WEEKENDS FOR A TOY AND SHE CAN USE IT FOR HER DAYS OFF... PERFECT

WELL WE PULL UP TO THE JEEP.. IN THAT TIME THEY PULLED IT OFF FOR SOME REASON... BUT IT WAS STILL RIGHT OUT FRONT...

WE GET OUT.... SHE WALKS TO THE JEEP.... I WALK INTO THE OFFICE TRYING TO BE ALL SMOOTH LIKE I COULD GIVE A RATS AZZ ABOUT THE JEEP AND TRY AND FIND SOME HELP SO WE CAN TAKE A PEEK AT THE JEEP.... I HAVE MY GAME FACE ON.... A SALESMAN ASSISTS ME... GRABS THE KEYS... AND AS WE WALK OUT THE FRONT DOOR MY GIRL SHOUTS...

'I WANT IT... I WANT IT HONEY... I WANT IT...!!!

SHE LITERALLY IS HANGING ONTO THE FRONT OF THE HOOD AND IS TRYING TO HUG THE JEEP...

OH MY GOD I SAY TO MYSELF... YOU ARE NOT DOING THIS...

THE SALESMAN LOOKS AT ME AND SMIRKS... I LOOK BACK AND SAY.................. FCK... :)

SO LONG STORY SHORT WE GO BACK INTO THE OFFICE TO TALK.. I MAKE MY OFFER... AND THEY DONT BUDGE.. LOL.. FIGURES B/C MY GIRL DIDNT SHOW HER A GAME AT ALL... !! HA...

BTW... WTF AM I TALKING ABOUT LONG STORY SHORT...? JUST REALIZED I TYPED THAT AGAIN... THERES NOTHING SHORT ABOUT THIS AT ALL... :)

WELL I STORM OUT OF THERE.... WHEN I START TO DRIVE OFF THE SALESMAN COMES FLYIN OUT OF THE SHOWROOM WAVING HIS CLIPBOARD (WHATS UP WITH THOSE STUPID FCKIN CLIPBOARDS ANYWAY...? DOES IT MAKE THEM FEEL MORE SECURE OR SOMETHNG?) AND YELLS... " I WILL TAKE 1000 OFF..!"

I SAY NO.....NOT EVEN CLOSE... AND DRIVE AWAY..

NEXT FEW DAYS WE WORK OUT A DEAL AND I GO PICK UP THE RIG... IM DRIVING HOME AND FCK WAS I PUMPED... I PUT HALF DOWN AND THE GIRL PAYS THE MONTHLY PAYMENTS....

WELL... MONTHS LATER I REALIZE I WANT THE RIG TO MYSELF...

HMMMM.... HOW THE FCK AM I GOING TO DO THIS?

WALA.... I THOUGHT OF A GREAT IDEA..... I GO OUT AND BUY A 05' 330I WHICH WAS HER AT ONE PT INITIAL CHOICE AND ADD IT TO OUR COLLECTION

NOW THE RIG IS ALL MINE!!!! :) MAY HAVE BEEN EASIER JUST TO BUY HER MYSELF... :)

BUT WHO THE FCK CARES.... B/C IN THE END I GOT THE RIG AND THATS ALL THAT MATTERS ;)

ANYBODY HAVE ANY GOOD STORIES ON THEIR RIG PURCHASE..? LETS HEAR IT FELLAS..!!!!

Just rolled my lifted WJ after the new year on some black ice and needed a new whip. I loathed the new WK look and indy front suspension so another limited was out of the question. Test drove GTOs, M3s, S4s, then realized that the SRT8 GC did not look like the WKs I despised. Then remembered I live in Chicago and already have a RWD sports car that doesn't see rain let alone snow which led me to see that this 400+ hp AWD monster could still be functional and get me through all seasons VERY QUICKLY!

Nutshell : Got on the forums, found out how bad a$$ these things were, test drove a '07, loved the performance but wasn't sold on the interior color, seen an '08 loved the HID autoleveling projectors and sick interior, talked to Don, got a sweet deal, and drove home in the snow 2 weeks after I rolled my WJ!

Well I always wanted to get an SRT8 after the lease on my '05 5.7L WK would be over.
So as the lease was getting to an end my wife and I started to look for the right jeep SRT8. But I wanted to buy also a '92 jeep Renegade like the one I used to own back in '92, so I found one just like it in Florida, went there to buy it and it didn't work out (it was a POS), so I came back and now my wife liked the 4 dr Wrangler (we definitely wanted a wrangler), so we went to check it out, we both test drove it but she didn't like the interior and not too practical for us having two kids, one of them a baby girl, so the wrangler was out.
So then a few days later I found this '08 silver jeep SRT8 with just 5K miles and it looked better than some new ones I've seen, so my wife and I head out to the dealer to check it out, she fell in love with it right away and she said "this is it!", of course I said... "I agree...! :D". I negotiated with the salesman, got it down to what I wanted and that same night we drove away in our '08 silver SRT8. :)

Fall 0f 2005 I consulted my car savant looking for something sportier than the Durango. I was thinking 350Z until I saw how small they were, so G35 was a front runner on my list. I lamented the loss of SUV utility for hauling stuff. He said I have the perfect thing for you and sent me an article on the SRT8GC. I was sold. Now the fact that my car savant is a 50 something year-old flaming queen that wears hoop earings in both years and answers "strange" when asked how he is does not detract from his auto expertise. He reads every car magazine published and monitors many websites to keep his knowledge current. He can recite from memory all the changes in each new model and their performance specs.

So my search began for an elusive SRT8GC. For the next 5 months 2 or 3 times a week I got online and searched my local dealers. When the stray SRT8 did appear, they wanted $10K above sticker. I found one dealer that only wanted $5k above, but they had none in stock but I put down a $500 deposit as they claimed to be getting one "soon". I really wanted to only pay sticker so I kept looking for a better deal.

One Friday in April I was at work processing our 14 forecasting databases, which takes about 1/2 hour each. During reindexing and compressing I have 5 or 10 minutes of downtime, perfect for a little surfing. I was headed to Orlando on Saturday so after finding no local SRT's, I thought what the heck check up there. The Jeep website was not the best for looking as it gave matches that were not SRT8s so you had to check the detail on each dealer. The sixth dealer on the list showed 2 SRT8's in stock, one black and one silver. The dealer was the Orlando Carmax new car dealer.

I called and got a salesman and asked him the price. His reply was $75 under the sticker. I asked if he could take a credit card over the phone for the purchase. He said he could hold it for 24 hours and I replied I would be up there by 8pm to pick it up. I finished my work in record time, headed to the bank to pick up a check, home to pick up the wife and 3 hours to Orlando to pick up the Jeep. It was 8 pm when I got to the Car Max and the silver Jeep was gleeming in the well lit wash area as we approached. I pointed it out and the wife commented, "kind of pimpy isn't it". Yes indeed it is... An hour later we drove off in the Jeep.

Driving home on Sunday, I had put 200 miles easy miles to almost complete the break in period when I finally let the wife drive. We swapped at a turnpike plaza and she headed for her first drive. About 20 seconds after getting on the turnpike, I looked over and saw the speedometer hit 110. I asked "honey, how fast are you going?". She replied 70, I think. I asked her to check again and her reply was "****!". Seems 110 on the 180 MPH speedometer is just about where 70 is on our other 2 cars...

Almost 3 years and 30K miles later, I love to drive anywhere as long as it is in the SRT....

Use to work at a car wash, and someone brought in a 2006 SRT8, I drooled every time i saw it.

I then had the TA and a blazer for winter. 2 car payments. 2 insurance payments. 2 registration payments (I was 21, now 22 years old).

FInally got out of college, got my fulltime job, and realized having 1 car payment, 1 insurance payment, 1 reg payment and something I can drive in winter would be nice. But didn't want to lose the speed and american muscle I've had since HS with the WS.6 . .

I got down to a TBSS vs GCSRT8 vs G8.

G8 got ruled out as winter would suck.

TBSS got ruled out because to me they were just to plain, i see 3 of them a day around here but only have 1 other GCSRT8 driving around town. Also no NAV.

I started looking online, and found on through this forum. Bought it and made my first payment before the thing even arrived! i fell in love and will own this thing until it blows up or 2013.

Saw an article on the "new" sports Jeep coming out in 2006..............
Thought, dam that thing is tough, 400+hp awd big wheels cool looking.....new parents...keep dreaming.

Then I sold my Lightning, and got a super nice 06 F150 Super Crew for a family truck. put 20s on it, and it was really nice.

Plus I could still pimp it, pulling my cobra to the track.

Daily driving it, bad gas mileage, big ....big....and hard to park comfortably at work and daycare.......
Just wasn't digging the truck, or the lackluster performance of it.

Sold my Cobra, and really thought the Jeep would be tough to have, I'll narrow down to 1 vehicle, and go for it.

Never saw one in person, and didn't know much about it.

After a lot of haggling, and basically making the trade/deal over the phone to lease this new Jeep to get the cheapest payment I could.

Sold Cobra on March 28th or something, and had Jeep April 2 2007.

The dealer actually gave me $1000 more for the truck once they saw it (that never happens)
and got the Jeep lease for 27 months....like $190 a month.

Took it to the track 6 days later....700 miles.....12.85 first pass and the rest is history.

anyway......
On the drive home, about 2 hours, felt like the MAC DADDY...it was so cool.
Fiddled with the radio non-stop figuring out how to work it. Took me a few days to figure out the auto stick also.
I didn't know it would shift by itself for almost a week after I bought it. LOL
Drove it to my dad's work, and he is very conservative(ex state cop)never liked racing, or me doing it etc..etc...
but he really liked it. I even let him drive it, but he wouldn't floor it.

My wife tried to act like she didn't like it, but she did. She didn't think I "needed" it.

We both complained however, about the dartiness of it, on the roads when flooring it, or passing....
...come to find out it was just the BadYear crap tires. they looked great, but were just bad.
After I installed the Nittos in Sept 2008, felt like a new truck, rode better, and everything.

The first time I sprayed the truck with a 100 shot, I thought, this ain't right. Too freakin awesome !!!!!

Loved it so much, and not tired of it, bought it out the Day after Thanksgiving 2008.

For some reason I don't get bored with this cool SUV.

Still rare in my area, and still get looks. I hate when it is not fully detailed, but I am always, busy and tired and the weather is weird!

It was a Saturday afternoon, i just dropped my son off at his friends birthday party and had about an hour to kill.
I was driving past the dealership and they had the new 4 door wrangler on one of those twisted lifted ramps looking all Indiana Jones. I have always liked the Rubicon so i pulled in to take a peek.
Before i could even walk around it the salesman was right there. I didn't even look at the price, told him there was no way they would even finance me, but wouldn't mind looking at a used Cherokee. so i filled out an app. and left.
A bit later he's calling me saying I'm approved come get your slightly use GC, well turns out he was in training, so he introduces me to his boss we will call him Tony, because his name is Tony. he tells me you don't want to drive that white one, 6 banger. he had a red 5.7 that was loaded that id like better. he was right nice power sharp looking. so how much$$$$$.he wanted 28,000 for a 2006 with 5000 miles on it loaded, i told him he was crazy....id rather buy the new one in the show room then pay that for a used vehicle.
Well his response was thats for serious drivers, Game on....that night i went home and found out what an SRT8 was. i was all ****s and giggles what people had written about online. So i went in the next day and had "NO GAME"
Tony wouldn't budge on the 46,500 pricing. He tossed me the keys to a blue one outside had like 200 miles on it and we went around a long block, i was amazed at how much power she had. even on the wet.
So i told him ill take the black one in showroom and pay his price. only had 5 miles on her,2007 loaded but no flip down screen/DVD.
thanks for reading,
Feb,2007 proud owner

I had been reading about this new Jeep and all the hype b4 it came out back in 05, I said This is gonna be Sick, I have to have my ducks in a row when they hit the dealer. So 06 rolls around , and i start shopping, but the stealers where all marking them up over 50k, No way, i did not want a crazy car note, So i ended up with a TBSS. I was happy. SO i thought, then in 08 i started shopping for the Jeep, Since the SS was paid. I figured i could get a good deal, The dealer would not budge on the price, I told him NP my car is paid for I really dont need the jeep and i left, He called me for three days, the price kept getting better, and on the Forth day the jeep was in my Driveway.

And every time i look at it, Start it , its like the first day all over again, Sick Freakin Jeep GC SRT 8.

One sunny summer day, I was driving back home from Chicago to Milwaukee. Getting close to home, I see a Jeep infront of me, knew what it was, but not much about it. I'm moving along pretty good (80-85) and he is right there with me in and out of traffic. Now, my Acura TL was no slouch. 280HP, 6-speed, quick on the freeway for sure. I drop into 3rd, top that out, 4th, top that out, and into 5th when I look in my mirror and lo and behold, this black monster is right behind me!

He comes up next to me, gives me a thubms up, hot GF winks at me, waves, and he hits it again.

I was in love......

Three weeks later, I happen to see one on the corner of the lot, used 2007 with 9K miles. I stopped and looked at it, then came back a week later and looked again, then drove it....

Boy, that was a BIG mistake. I didnt want to drive it, but the GM there knew me from when I had my S2000, and said "I trust you, I know your not some stroke coming in to take a joy ride" so I'm with the sales person, driving nice, and he says, "Come on, giver hell!" So I do, and boy was I in shock...even the sales person was going "Wow, that's scary".

Three days later, after a bunch of back and forth on my trade and their price, I was driving home in my TL with dealer plates on it to take off my Intake etc... Returned an hour later, and left in my new Jeep!

I drove to my buddies work after that, who had a TBSS, and REALLY wanted the Jeep. He walked out side, said Fvck You, and went back inside. I eventually got him to come back out, let him take it for a spin, he hugged me, said "You are now oficially my hero" we had a smoke, he went back to work, and I enjoyed the rest of my day with my new toy....

The rest is history!

It was a cool chilly afternoon in January.... The Jaguars were playing the Pats in the 2nd game of the Playoffs. The game started at 8pm. The dealership called me at 5pm saying we were approved and come get it. We get there at 5:30pm. WE LEFT THERE AT DAMN 7:45PM!!!!! WTF?!?! I had COLD beer waiting for me in the fridge and a Playoff game to watch! Luckily I got home a few minutes after kick-off to watch the Jags lose. SO, after that I went out to find out what was wrong with the stereo and it just needed to be pulled in. Someone tried to steal it at the actution I think. That's how I got my baby.

Knew what I was looking for-searched it out online and made the short drive to libertyville to take a look at her. Was an 06' with just under 8K on her. First impression-I was in awe. One thing to see them online-another in person:eek:. Then for the test drive:eek: I was gonna buy it regardless of the price-that's what they do to you. Had a super cool sales guy(he owns the Skyline from the second Fast and Furious Movie--saw some pics)-got what I wanted-and parted with my Inferno Red 02' Limited and never looked back. Little over a year later-have just under 18K and very few issues. Makes me smile every day-the looks and stares never get old :D The only thing is-My test drive scared the sh*t out of me with the power-----NOW when I have to take into the dealer and remove my CMR tune...I'm like this thing is slow ;). WOW-its funny how you get used to the power. That's it....

Some interesting tales here. I was up at my cabin in GA chilling with a lady friend over the Xmas holidays of 2005. Saw an ad in a car mag. Coincidentally, next day I saw the "tree" ad. That did it right there.

Xmas day I'm dragging her to two dealers up in Blue Ridge and Jasper GA. just to see if I could spot one. Nothing on either of their lots. Next day talked to a sales Mgr. at a beautiful dealership called Jasper Jeep who was really up front, said they didn't expect any til maybe late Jan or Feb.

He knew I was out of Tampa, said to check all over the Orlando zone as they would get a bunch shortly according to his info. Told me a lot of dealers would try to nail everyone with an addendum bump, but he would go at least MSRP if and when he got it.

Back to Tampa for New Years. Jan 2, I think, went in to my local dealer who I had done a fair amount of previous business with. Showed me three order sheets he had submitted on 12/15/05. Red, Silver, and Black. Indicated he had no idea on delivery.

Worked the deal, loaded except block heater. MSRP $45,815.00, discount of $2,748, and bought it for $43,067. (The next 2 he got went for MSRP). He changed it to a sold order.

Anyway, back up to the cabin 2nd week of Jan. I'm there only two nights and my sales "girl" calls on Jan 14th, and says "guess what's just coming off the truck". We could not believe it. Only 4 weeks from original order to dealer drop. And the change order had gone through, cause my name is printed right on the Maroney sticker.

Told her to get the keys and keep em, park it, no clean up, and leave all the wrap on everything. If I didn't have the same lady friend with me I probably would have headed home the next day. Finally hit the dealer on the 18th, checked it out and drove it. Knew immediately I had made the right decision. Had never bought a ride that I had not driven first. Too this day, I don't regret it.

Picked up on the 19th, home, washed it, clayed it, and started laying on the Zaino. Looks as good or better than the day I got it.

It has served me well, and I never tire of driving it. :D:D

Took me months to even convince my Wife to go look at one. We went to the dealership and drove it home that night. It was the first really nice vehicle either of us had ever had, after years of both being in college at the same time and scraping by. My heart was absolutely pounding while we were waiting in the finance office at the mere thought that I was about to own the very vehicle that I had been dreaming about for two years. My Wife was so cool about the whole thing. I'm sure she could tell how much it meant to me. She didn't even put up a fight when it came down to who was going to drive it home, even though it was meant to be her daily driver. I remember driving it home from the dealership and how surreal it felt. I still get remnants of that feeling every single time I drive that thing.

Oh yeah.... everytime I went into the garage to get a beer or something it was wierd seeing that bad boy in my garage. I'd pour out half a gallon of milk and told my wife I'd be back and had to run to the grocery store....... the one that was 20 miles away not 2!!:D

It was like that when I bought my first brand new truck. My 2004 Ford F-250 Harley Edition. I had the 1st one that the dealership got in. The best was when I pulled out and got 1/2 mile from the dealership with it another Super Duty pulled up and passed me and the guy was breaking his neck trying to look at it. I felt like a PIMP!

Me too! I will go out into the garage to do something and will not emerge for 5-10 minutes because I get so cuaght up in looking at the beauty of that ride.

The only thing I can compare to owning one of these rigs and constantly wanting to drive it would be the first couple days you had your driver's license and you wanted to go everywhere and would go out of your way to drive just a little bit further.

I think the time is nearing and we're gonna start slow, try to get a consumer base, build the name up, hopefully mid summer we'll have lot of business. This is definitely going to contribute to my down payment for the beast, any suggestions from your standpoint? I know you know proper techniques but your level of quality is something we are simply not quite going to match, who can haha, we're looking to provide you know the normal, wash/wax then a wash/wax/vac - then like a full detail inside and out, any idea what market prices look like, or competition down your way, not that it matters? I'm definitely gonna look to you for supply recommendations unless there are cheaper substitutes that get the job done, wadda ya think? Just in the brainstorming phase right now.

My buy wasn't to long ago... Is was also kind of random I would have to say.. Well I had been looking for a Jeep SRT for about 2 years and my dad said the day would come... I thought maybe Christmas, or my birthday... Finally he did tell me I would get one as my graduation present... Well one Saturday came, it was a nice say out, so I convinced him that we should just go drive was since I hadn't driven one in a year or so and maybe I wouldn't like it anymore so I'd stop begging him. (Of course I would like it ;) ) Well we went to our local dealer and they wouldn't get one for a few months. So we just went home.. I searched the web for one that was local and found 1 that was 30 minutes away.. Dad said maybe next weekend.. Well My phone rang and it was the local dealer and said a guy just brought in an '08 Srt with 6k miles who wanted to trade it in.. We thought, wow we can probably buy it from the guy before he trades it in.. So we rushed up there. It was Red Rock and we liked it.. As he said to come back in about an hour and we could make a deal, (wanted $32,500), we drove to the other one to check out theirs. We get there and the Jeep is sitting on the showroom floor. It was brand spankin new.. We were just going to drive it, but dad started talking. Asked the guy what they could let it go for that day and he comes back and says $42k.. I then say, "you know there are rebates, incentives, ect. on this car." His response was they don't do those on the SRT's.. So I told him he better go check on that. He comes back and says, "wow, you sure do your research!" So they offer to us for $37,500.. As my dad wasn't planning on buying a car that day, he said I'll write a check for $35k right now and thats my only offer I have for yall. He goes awhile for less than a minute and comes back and says "SOLD!"
Man was I shocked. I had no idea I would be driving to work the next morning in a Jeep. Since then, I love this beast and wouldn't trade it for anything!! I have barely even touched my mustang anymore, and all I want to do now is mod, mod and mod! lol

Theres my little story :)

I was looking to get the SVT Sport-Trac Adrenaline way back in 2006. Had heard about the Jeep but didn't really check it out. Found out SVT was canceling everything but the GT500. So now I still want a high HP AWD vehicle and remembered the Jeep. Did a search on google and found this site in March of '06. Did my research of what was going wrong with them and it was nothing major. Did some dealer searches in June and found an Inferno Red at a dealer and sent them an email. They wanted $5000 over. No thanks. Kept checking around but was in no hurry. In August they started Employee pricing and toward the end of the month added SRTs. That Jeep was still for sale at the dealer. I sent them another email. He came back w/ $5000 over. I sent him a posting on this site that stated what kind of trouble they would get in if they didn't offer employee pricing. The GM emailed me back honoring the employee pricing just asking me to pay for the wheel locks and delivery charge(came from Michigan dealer). Went in on a Friday night and took it for a test drive and was sold. Put down $500 to hold it till Saturday; needed to sleep on it. Filled out the paper work on Sat. and took my buddy who never even heard of it for a spin. He shat in his pants. On the way out I asked if we could test drive the QC SRT10 truck. I was happy with the choice I made. Sounded good but oh so heavy. Drove the Jeep home and down to the city for a bachelor party and was getting looks from everyone wondering what the hell it was. Walk by it every day in the garage and I'm still happy it's mine. Almost to 10,000 miles.

Mine is really boring but what the heck. Lol. I had been doing my research looking for a new SUV to buy because I had been doing well at my new job at the steel mill and thought to myself that I deserve a brand new car. I had a 1995 Chevy Tahoe 2 Door at the time. During the research I came across the Jeep and a video on YouTube. Instantly I was sold. I know a woman who works as a receptionist in the service department at the dealer and she told me that there was one there and she hooked me up with the salesman. I had never seen one in person until I got to the dealer. There was a silver one and a black on the lot but the silver had been spoken for. Every car I've had was black so I was kind of used to it. All the research I had done, the salesman didn't have time to BS me. I was telling HIM what features it has. We went for a test drive. I wanted to feel the power so I punched it and the salesman freaked out. Lol. I told him I had to feel the 420 HP if he wanted to sell it. We got back to the dealer and talked some numbers. After about 15 min or so, I was signing the dotted line. Meanwhile it was going for its bath and I missed it already. Lol. While I was waiting I realized that I had to be at work in 2 hours and wanted time to spend with my new baby. Well, come to find out someone on my crew had already called off and they were already going to be short handed. All I could think was DAAAAAAMMMNN IIIIIIITT!!! So, she got back from the wash and there she was. Gleaming and smooth like a baby's you know what. On my way home on the Parkway, I wanted to see what else she had. Boy oh boy was I like a pig in sh*t. Just kept saying to myself, "OH MY GOD, I LOVE THIS F'ING TRUCK!!" and I still do to this day. Lol. THE END. :pinklove:

I remember seeing the GC SRT8 commercial on tv once or twice and thought it looked pretty cool.....but wasn't looking for anything at the time.

Fast forward a couple of years and I'm on my way to my buddy's house after grabbing a bite to eat and see a Grand Cherokee sitting at a light as I pull up......looks good but instantly can see it's not a normal Grand Cherokee. I realized it was a SRT8 (first one I ever saw in person), thought it looked good. Then the kid behind the wheel (late teens/early 20s....dealer plates) hauls ass when the light turns green. Sounded badass and my buddy and I just look at each other and say "damn that thing is quick."

Find out a buddy of mine from MI picked one up, so I start asking him about it, how he likes it, any problems, etc.. He tells me about this site, and about Champion Jeep.
So I join up here and get in touch with Don at Champion. Talk with him a bit, tell him I'll be in contact when I'm ready to buy. My buddy tells me that I "have to drive one." So, I call up Don and setup a time to go in and check one out in person and take a test drive. I was hooked at that point (about a year ago). I knew that I couldn't get one until fall at the earliest though.

Hung out with Don a few times, looking at the Jeeps....drove another. Got swamped with work last year and pretty much didn't have time to think about Jeeps, LOL. Winter comes around and I finally get a little free time so I get back on this site reading again and read about employee pricing on the SRTs. I check out Jeep's site and see the employee pricing, rebates and financing. Technically I didn't "need" another vehicle...so I figured maybe I'll look into it, no rush. Called Don a few times to get his expert opinion, LOL.

Well, my parents and sister tell me that I need to find a new vehicle for my mom (she's not much for car shopping, apparently). So I end up at a Jeep dealership (looking at a Commander for her) and test drove a Modern Blue SRT8, really wanted one again :D. As I was in the showroom I kept looking at the Silver SRT8 they had inside and really thought it looked good (have 11 trucks that are all blue, time for a change anyway).

I look at a few more dealers at suvs for my mom and tell her that she needs to go with since it's going to be for her. So she tells me when she's free and we decide to go to dealers. She tells me she wants to look at mini vans (needs room for the 3 cages for her Rotts) so I look for the nearest Chrysler dealer online and we go there. They have what she wanted so I ask them about searching for a left over 08 SRT8 for me.

The owner had one of the managers run a search ASAP, came up with a silver one. So I go in the next morning to put a deposit on it. They call to secure it, only to find out another dealer got it the day before......BUT, they find another one. This one is a late 08 and also has the sirius backseat tv so it's $1000 more. I tell them to get it.

So, it comes in on a Friday night. We get snow into Sat. morning so I'm out snowplowing. Couldn't wait to get done plowing so that I could go pick up the Jeep. Finished up, went home and showered and went to the dealer to pick it up.

Been loving every minute of it since. I think at first it hadn't really sunk in that this was really mine :D.

yeah but that EVERYONE is only the people who have seen them or know about them.... 3 years outta production and i still have majority of people who have NO IDEA what our rig is...

for some reason chrysler choose to keep our rigs down low... advertising almost doesnt exist... if ya think about our rigs sell from word of mouth.. or car mags.. or in front of a dealer lot...

i still NEVER saw a gcsrt8 rig or even an advertisement in the paper...

So yes we can say everyone loves them... but that everyone is a small small scale of the population

A few weeks ago i was washing the jeep and a car drove by... all of a sudden it braked and the reverse lights came on... 2 guys stepped outta the car and were in awe....

"is that thing supercharged..? what the heck is it? "

so i go and tell them and they NEVER seen one before... it was the first time they saw a jeep gcsrt8.... that is weird... but after i think about it i only saw ONE gcsrt8 before i bought mine

well he drove off with a big smile on his face and im almost certain hes getting one... i told him if he buys one he better stop by with it... he said OH I WILL>>>> b/c im getting myself one..!!

Thanks! Yes, it was a great day. I give him my love everyday, he is my best freind! I would do anything to pay him back for it, so I was thinking a great gift if a few years would be to buy him a car. A '69 Camaro. White conv, with blue stripes and seats. That was his first car and his baby. My mom and I have been talking about it for awhile and thought it would be a great gift for him one day. Just need to find one ;)

In my heart, my dad is the #1 dad. :) He has done nothing but show love in me, help me, and teach me everything I know as I have grown up.

I love to hear that about you getting your son something one day.. I always wonder what I will do when that day comes. :)
And your daughter, that is cute! Hope she is a little daddys girl and if she keeps beggin, then you may just have to get her one :p lol
