: Throttle response?

Lately I've been noticing that my throttle response is getting sluggish. I don't know if it's been like this all along and I'm just now noticing it or what. Wether it's in D or Autostick, I can pretty much count "one one-thousand" out loud after tipping into the throttle before it actually responds. This is more noticeable in 1st, but it happens at all speeds. I would say it's like a tranny hesitation, but when I keep it in 1st with the Autostick is the worst. I literally have time to think "Does the vehicle know I pushed the gas?". Anyone else noticed this? :(

P.S. Electronic throttles suck. Cable, FTW!

Sorry to hear that. Why don't you try a battery reset and see if that does it for you? Seems like a lot of absurd little glitches or gremlins can be fixed by simply disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and then reconnecting.

disconnect the negative battery terminal then go in the car put the key in the ignition turn it and hold on for 10 seconds if that doesen't work go to the dealer and tell them you have a hesitation in 1st to second they will flash your tcm that will solve your problem but make sure you tell them you have the hesitation or they won't do the flash

No, it's not a transmission hesitation. It's a throttle hesitation. I already have the TCM re-flash.

I'll try the battery trick.

Houston, I have the same problem. I can really feel it when I stomp on it. Starts to slowly move, then I feel like I got rear ended, and the thing takes off.

Its called drive by wire. If you are coming from real cars, old cars, with less computer interference, youll notice its really terrible. Bettween that and this "torque management" crap, which I call driver management, these and many other new cars are "mushy" to say the least. Its a nice easy way for car companies to increase profit by cutting warranty issues. They control how you drive, lessen the wear on driveline parts, and presto, warranty claims down - profit up. Think about it - 420 HP and 420 FT LBS, 13+ second 1/4 mile? Sorry doesnt jive with me. For that amount of HP and torque it should light up all 4 wheels and for pete sake at least chirp First gear! The shifts are firmer on a nissan sentra at WOT. I hate Drive by wire and I will do anything to get a manual throttle on this truck.

Yea I disconnected the neg battery and drained it though the brake and afterwards it seemed alot more nimble, the shifts were harder and more consistent. I've heard that this will go away after a hundred miles or so as the pcm adjusts everything again. But it does work and it feels nniicccee :D

Has anyone figured out the learning logic?

How hard does someone need to drive it, and for how long, for the pcm to learn the hard shifting? I've never reset mine, I'm wondering if my easiness during the breakin period has contributed to shifting under light throttle that makes it feel like I'm driving a CVT.

one time after driving like a grandmother for a few days I went wot and it went like a turd- did wot another 1-2 times from a stop and than one or two times from a roll and afterwards it picked up instantly w/ shift and acceleration. Thing is, how ridiculous is it that we have to go wot 1-5 times before the truck picks up again ? its stupid - what if i drive slow for two days and than need to accelerate hard to avoid a vehicle and the car bogs ? Its dangerous and stupid - as a regular driver I, like everyone else here can recognize the cars output and begins to rely on it as a secondary instinct while driving. If the output constantly changes than its unreliable in real world accident avoiding incidents.

Fellas...Correct me if I am wrong...So what I am hearing is it drives "like we stole it" of we disconnect the battery every 100 miles or so? Why would this trick work? Will this multiple disconnecting the battery hurt the vehicle long term? I too feel the throttle is sluggish now. 2500 miles on it.
