Sarge there's a local 1/8th mile enthusiast club around my parts. Pretty sure if this wasn't the daily grind I'd take your model and clean house. Your ET's are incredible for your trap speed, keep it up man.

Vicioussrt went to atco last night and ran a 12.5@108mph with 700ft DA. There was a stock srt8 cherokee with CAI and exhaust that ran a 13.3@103mph. Thats .8 gain in the 1/4 mile with the only difference being the stage 1 heads and stage 2 Cam. Total cost on that package is $1495.

sorry but i have to throw it in there... did you have a tune done for the cam? if you did im sure you had yours tuned pretty well... if he just had intake and exhaust then you have more then what was stated...

i dont mean to rain on the parade but it would add total cost also... :)

If they both have exhaust and CAI, the only difference between them is the heads/cam/tune. It isnt my car, I didnt have anything to do with the tune, Matt at tune time in Jersey did the tune as if it were any other customer.

Jeep A------Jeep B
CAI--------CAI
Exhaust----Exhaust
Stock------PPP Stage 1 Heads
Stock------PPP Stage II Cam
13.3@103----12.5@108

Again, the only difference is the heads/cam/tune.

but a tune is 375 for the tuner and then a tune on top of it...

what i am getting at is a cai/exhaust/tune can break 12's... so you have something else thats all

Most people who are buying heads/cam already have the predator. Of course a Jeep can run 12's with cai/exhaust/tune, but last night it couldnt. Just like a heads/cam car can run low 12's, but last night a 12.5 is all he could get. The point is not the actual times, but the difference between the two cars.

I might be interested in something given my current situation, but it will likely be a whole motor set up.

Let me know, I can put a motor with the heads/cam for a smoking deal.

how do you know that... the 13.3 jeep didnt have a tune... thats what im trying to say... if that truck had a tune it could have ran a 13.1, 13.0 or hell even a 12.9...

your truck had...

$1495 heads/cam
$375 predator
$200(at least) tune...

at least $2070 to gain .8 sec

258$/(.1 second) vs. the 187$/(.1) that your coming across as...

i think a 12.5 is great and im not saying anything negative about it. and if that jeep ran a 13.3 then the DA was crappy... ive ran a 13.1 in 1XXXda with only and intake... the heads and cam are doing their job i was just getting at you can give an idea form the jeep running a 13.3 but its apple and oranges talking about money... thats all...

you could probably get a low 12.4x or high 12.3x with good air... :D

Got everything installed over the weekend (StageII heads with hand finished ports, StageI pro series cam, SW 1 7/8" headers, 25% UD pulley, forged pushrods). I am still running on a base tune, hoping to log some data tomorrow and make any necessary adjustments.
I like this setup alot, noticeable but not crazy at idle. I actually got the tires to chirp hard off the line last night driving around. A lot more fun to drive. :D
Once I get the tune nailed down, it will back on the dyno and at the track in OH at the latest.
Thanks Andy!

Tough call, Started around 5 on Friday night and called it a night at 11 but during that time we stopped for some food, beer, BSing with other people that stopped by, etc...
Saturday we officially started around 10, same as the day before but a lot more breaks to BS, food, beer, etc.... So we didn't finish up until around midnight or 1am. I think if we pushed on Saturday, somewhere areound 6 would be my guess.
It was a fun weekend until the end when you just want to get done. :D Half the fun is everyone getting together, having a few beers and sharing some laughs.

If we had a whole day to do it, we could've done it all in one day without too much of an issue. This was the first Jeep we tore into so the next one should be a little quicker.
We used to work until all hours of the night but decided to maka the tear down the break point. We weren't rushing.
Next on the list is an S/C, but that wont be for a while yet. I am happy with this setup right now. I have a couple of small things that I need to finish up in the next couple of weeks.

I'm not sure who you are going with, but when I was talking supercharger with Andy, he was going to give me a different cam.
So if your planning on the heads/cam and then an SC a few months later, you might just want to hold off and only tear apart the engine once.

Yeah I thought about that too, but right now I am just thinking heads, cams, and ported intake. I would probably wait another year to year and a half before I went with the SC. So when does your Beast go on the Dyno bro?

I am going to get a couple revisions to the tune first, then it will be back on the dyno.
I love the setup! It has a nice lope to it at idle or when waiting at stop lights.
I did realize that I have a couple of small exhaust leaks that will addressed tomorrow. Overall, I love the power.
Believe it or not, some little GTI tried keeping up with me on 90 this afternoon. LOL
