: jeep srt-8 gas consumption
neverenough!!! 03-16-2009, 04:17 PM Hi all i m new here, i want to buy a jeep srt-8 but before i just want to know how is the fuel consumption on those srt, i heard they drink gas like a drunkard... someone could tell me the truth on that... if it s possible can you give me the consumption #liters/100km ? i really want that jeep!!!!:):):)
Thx all!
blackcar 03-16-2009, 04:30 PM i get about 59 mpg is mine, if gas concerns you do not buy this for a daily driver. I average 14mpg, thats mostly highway driving (120 mile per day) w/ the exception of about 18 of those miles be stop light streets.
I have hit 18mpg on 91 octane in oklahoma, 100% of the driving was highway w/ the cruise set at 60mph
kokanee13 03-16-2009, 04:39 PM I average 21/100. On the highway you can get 13 or 14 L per 100k. She's not good on gas. But if that's a problem she's not the right car for you. I think they were rated 6th or 8th for the worst on gas ever!
Swedish SRT8-owner 03-16-2009, 04:41 PM Who gives a chit:)
BlackJeepSRT 03-16-2009, 04:43 PM I got a best of 20 mpg going around 55 mph. But who drives that slow? DD, I get around 15. :D
promo718 03-16-2009, 07:11 PM Hi all i m new here, i want to buy a jeep srt-8 but before i just want to know how is the fuel consumption on those srt, i heard they drink gas like a drunkard... someone could tell me the truth on that... if it s possible can you give me the consumption #liters/100km ? i really want that jeep!!!!:):):)

this is not the right vehicle for you
Vinnysrt8 03-16-2009, 07:17 PM The best i get on the high way doing 60 was 17 mpg and the best going down hill was 28
BOYCHIKS 03-16-2009, 07:57 PM I just got home and it was at 10.6mpg. Don't recall driving it to hard, but thats no interstate driving for about 50 miles.
08srt8Calgary 03-16-2009, 08:03 PM the gas consumption is f'n awsome.
Donnie91 03-16-2009, 09:28 PM damn some of yous do good....99% of the time i get 10.2 but never less and maybe 11 or 12 on the long highways *sometimes*..but as for gas prices its the high octane/premium gas thats what does it ,instead of paying 1.65 per gallon for regular your dropping 2 or 2.35 per gallon for premium gas... other than that its a great ride but if your watching the fuel gauge like other guys said this deffinatly isnt the DD for you.
rwboring 03-17-2009, 06:12 AM when someone asks me that in person i just laugh... and if i am at a pump i tell them ill be back in 3 days... :)
besteglass 03-17-2009, 06:19 AM Get the Jeep, just remember to turn it off while fillin er up or it'll take forever!
rwboring 03-17-2009, 06:22 AM ^^^ hahah there ya go
MemphisR24 03-17-2009, 07:31 AM Yeah my mpg gauge in the truck sits at around 11.9 haha. I can go further on a tank of gas with my cobalt + corolla with having just about half the size of the jeeps tank haha
rwboring 03-17-2009, 07:34 AM 11.9 is pretty bad... i got like 12 in the winter letting it warm up for 10-15 min... i get about 13-14 average... surprising they get betterat 30-55 then 70+ well i guess you could assume it since they are a brick... but gearing also hurts it big time... screaming at 3k+ on the interstate will kill ya
neverenough!!! 03-17-2009, 06:14 PM ok thx guys for yr quick reply, really helpful, but right now i have an 03 supercharged svt mustang with around 600hp do ya think i can compare these two rides on the mpg?
neverenough!!! 03-17-2009, 06:23 PM never checked how i do with!!!:D:D
kokanee13 03-17-2009, 06:39 PM you'll get much better mpg in the stang
neverenough!!! 03-17-2009, 07:00 PM really you think! Oh ****!!!!!:mad::mad:
BlackJeepSRT 03-17-2009, 07:12 PM Depends on how you drive it. ;) On the highway you can hit the upper teens no problem. But it goes "gas guzzler" when ever you go WOT. City driving is low teens, mixed city/highway is low-mid teens. If you baby it, 55 mph, you can get hit 20 mpg. But gas is cheap enough. It's not $5+ like some were paying. :p
WBSRT 03-17-2009, 08:19 PM Get the Jeep, just remember to turn it off while fillin er up or it'll take forever!
LMAO thats funny ...
I do almost all city driving (tons of stop and go). I use around 19.5L/100km to 21L/100km (around 11 mpg). The best I have ever got (2 hrs on the highway using Cruise Control) is 15.5L/100km (around 15 mpg). I have no idea how guys are getting 20 mpg under any circumstances, so don't count on it!!!
**All bigger SUVs are brutal on gas, so to me sacrificing an extra mpg or two is worth it when the pay off is having the coolest SUV on the planet :)

its like giving up the liver because of beer... you know its bad but you LOVE IT
Baldhead 03-18-2009, 11:04 AM Yeah I think a 1/4 tank a day sounds about right. On a 'good' week you'll run a tank in, OH, about three days. The people at the gas station get to know you by name! Hey look at like this... you'll make new friends! Dont worry, you'll get used to it.
BELGIAN 03-18-2009, 04:02 PM The lowest i got out of it was 13,8/100km. all highway. Normally it's about 17-18/100km. One does get use to it. If you go to the same gas station all the time you'll notice the people are getting friendlier and friendlier.
webby 03-19-2009, 07:10 PM When i am lying on my death bed, the last thing i will worry about is how much gas i used or MPG, what i will be thinking about is, how much fun i had, the speed, looking good, toying with imports and BMW's, and the feeling i got every time i turned the key.PRICELESS.
If you worry about gas, dont get a SRT8,i hear Smart cars get good MPG,or if you want to look gay and get left behing, get a mustang, supercharged or not.
DevssrT 03-19-2009, 07:32 PM I get 10-12 around down...15-18 on the highway...18 was my best ever...
TonySRT8 03-19-2009, 07:40 PM You get used to the schedule.
It seems like if I'm not washing the jeep, I'm at the gas station filling it up with 93 octane :D
besteglass 03-20-2009, 04:38 AM If you even have to ask about mpg you better stick with your little pony car. Don't know if you can tell, but there aint a whole lotta tree huggers on this site who worry about mpg's. Up in WI we could use a little global warming. It's a 5000# tank with some cargo space and gettyup. There's always a Prius if you are worried!
rumplemenz 03-23-2009, 07:57 PM this is a sick thread...! dont mean to be a hard azz bro but its not difficult to find out the gas mileage on any car.. what makes these rigs any different.,.?
if you really are that concerned than please by all means pass these rigs up....
i mean it is what it is... they guzzle gas... you pay to play...
if you are an avg driver she may only cost ya 150 bucks more a month in gas.... to me its worth every penny.. !!!
now stop your nonsense and snap out of it... :)
you want one that bad that get your azz on a budget so you can afford gas and you will thank me every g@d ddaaaahhaaam day :)
good luck bro... you willl not regret it ever stopping at a gas station... shes well worth it
silverbullet 03-24-2009, 09:10 PM Hello fellow Canadian... just look at my sig! End of story...
No Chit scarry stuff eh ;). I do a lot of stop and go in the City driving. Average get 26.8 l/100km's. Worth every $$$ I spent on gas for this thing.
webby 03-24-2009, 09:25 PM I Agree- A-men to that brother, if you have to ask, you cannot afford it.:boohoo:There are leaders and followers in this world, SRT8 leads, mustangs follow. So keep up with the ballet lessons, and hang out with the rest of the losers.Buy a smart car, and all the gas you save, i will use it, i say thank god for tree huggers,i am going to burn up as much gas as i can before its all gone.
InfernoGirl 03-24-2009, 10:28 PM the gas consumption is f'n awsome.
LOL! Perfect! I love it! :D
rwboring 03-25-2009, 06:12 AM we were the 3rd worse of 2008... behind a lambo and the MB suv (that has like 500 horse and weighs like 800000lbs)
webby 03-25-2009, 10:09 PM :rocker::rocker::rocker::rocker::rocker::rocker:
kokanee13 03-25-2009, 11:09 PM So whats the worst you have got. Silverbullit at 5 mpg I've never seen that!
rwboring 03-26-2009, 10:10 AM i bet you could... just reset it and do a 1/4 run... reset it again... do it like 3 times... youll be down there... if not the first! haha
blade0314 03-26-2009, 11:20 AM Wat kind of mpg can some1 expect with a mopar cold air intake and mopar catback exhaust and tune by aj (hemituner) expect?
WBSRT 03-26-2009, 11:52 AM Wat kind of mpg can some1 expect with a mopar cold air intake and mopar catback exhaust and tune by aj (hemituner) expect?
I dont have AJ's tune YET, But i have the mopar CAI and a can tune, Local im getting 13.3, I was getting 10 , when the car was new. The best ive seen on trips to VA , 17. I'll have my B&B Cat-back on Saturday, then i'll be reaching out to AJ. But i doubt i see anything better that 14 MGP local, and i dont mind the MPG one bit.
