Try using the voice dial thru u-connect. No problems on my end when I use that method.

I'm having the exact same issue, and it's driving the people I call batty. I'll try some different dialing tactics today.

When it says "ready" , you say "Call". It will then ask for the name.
Hope this helps.

Is there an easy wya to load the numbers from your phone to the phone list on the car? I would really like to voice activate my whole phone on there. But then how hard will it be to clear all that info if you want to get rid of the Jeep in the future.

i have the same problem where you're calling from your phone and you don't hear anything, not even a ring, until a second after they pick up.

and when people call you, it doesn't display caller id on the screen, not even the phone number.

and the system doesn't shut off until about 10 seconds after you shut off the car.

and I'm still getting used to when I get a phone call while the engine is running and I'm outside talking with someone. Especially for this I thought about installing a bluetooth killswitch. Could be something simple like a hidden toggle switch, or much better would be to design a circuit so when you hit both the buttons on the mirror it would turn it on or off. Maybe a future version of UConnect will have a feature like this??

The UConnect in the vehicle does not use the stored numbers in your phone. You will have to add new entries into the UConnect system in the vehicle to be able to use a directory with the hands free. If you dial from the phone and UConnect takes over, you will get the delay some people described because the system waits until the call is connected to take over. You cal dial by voice using the system if you know the number. Just hit the button, say "dial" then the number when prompted. It is kind of a pain that it doesn't pick up the directory from your cell phone, but thats how it is designed. It's just like one of those little ear buds, but with more functions. Caller ID will display on incoming calls, and the radio will turn off to tell you the phone is ringing. At least, it does on mine.

Maybe the callerid has to do with the version of bluetooth in the phone, I'm going to check it out.

I still have a random (yet frequent) error where the UConnect says I have an incoming call, but I have nothing coming in. When it does happen it happens every few minutes and gets really annoying.

I'm having none of these issues with my UConnect, but I have another. When I get a second call while one is in progress, it disconnects both calls automatically. Anyone else??

guys, quick question. awaiting arrival of my blk GC SRT8, end of sept.

didn't order the SAT NAV, just SRT grp1 pkg with upgraded radio. Does UConnect caller ID work for non-NAV radio's?

thanks

We have U Connect on both our new GC and my 300C. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Read the owner's manual thoroughly before you start to use the phone. I had a lot of questions that came up that were all answered there.
2. Voice recognition technology is not perfect. U Connect works really well, but, once again, it's not perfect.
3. The best way to go is to populate the U Connect phonebook with your favorite numbers. It works much better that way.
4. When calling using a number stored in the phone, the duplex (two way voice) does not initiate until the person making the call starts talking. When I make a call this way, I say "hello" a bunch of times when the call appears to be answered. This works just fine.
5. Chrysler's website has a section on the use of U Connect. The link is: http://www.chrysler.com/uconnect/ You may find some helpful information there.
6. Each phone that is bluetooth capable has different characteristics that work differently. For example, I can see my signal strength, but not battery charge level, with my phone (Motorola V551) Other phones work differently.

My best suggestion is to set it up and check it out. Anyone that has the REC navagation and U Connect are in for a treat when they want to call the place they have looked up. Way cool.

Good luck to all.

and to answer your question, U-connect does work with just the stock radio ( no nav ) The SRT that I ended up pickeing up (with EP pricing) did not have the nav system and the u-connect works fine.
