I picked up my 07 about two weeks ago, and just love it!:) Purchased it in Clearwater FL, drove to Orlando and then home ot Fort Myers (carefully following the break in procedures, of course)
So, with about 900 miles on it to date I'm having trouble. A few days ago, the battery light came on while driving to work. Thought it might be a glitch, but I called the dealer anyway. The service tech said, (of course) "It's probably a glitch" and asked me to bring it in if the light continues to come on...
The light was on/ off again for about two days in a row, and I had to run to Naples (about 30 miles) for work, before I could make it to the dealer. On my return trip the light came on about 10 minutes after I started the vehicle, and then ten minutes later the car slowed to about 42 MPH. It wouldn't downshift or accelerate past 42. When I reached a stop light, It would accelerate very slowly, and buck like an inexperienced driver with a stickshift...
I made it to the dealer, and Wednesday morning I explained the problem I was having (I also mentioned the shift hesitation many are experiencing). The tech found nothing similar to the battery light/42 MPH thing in the TSB
listing. I left it with them, and by the end of the day they "traced and repaired ground to P.D.C." I believe it's a ground wire.
I drove it a short distance Thursday, everything seemed to be fine. Today, Friday, I had a trip to Sanibel (about 30 miles too) and sure enough the battery light, and 42 MPH thing happened again:confused:
Any thoughts?
thanks,
M

The 42 mph thing isn't the problem. It sounds like whatever the problem is is causing your car to go into limp mode.

IMO, I'd have your dealer replace the battery & check the charging system. The PCM may have an issue also. I wouldn't let it go to long.

Limp mode- that makes sense.

I'm calling the dealer first thing in the AM- don't want to fry the PCM or anything else...

thanks for the help guys!

Grounding issues can be a pain to troubleshoot and can cause weird problems like that. Good luck.

By the way, that is an awesome Ft. Myers/Naples commute you have!

I had a similar thing happen after putting about 1/2 mile on my new '07. The truck was in limp mode until I stopped and cycle the key. It also had several other electrical problems. I wrote about it on here somewhere. It ended up being a loose connector in the wiring harness. The dealer rep told me it was the main connector on the ECU.
