I've been having trouble deciding which would be the best to install.. Most of my friends reccomend the procharger as they have them installed on there camaros.. so the best place for advice is the forum, are my friends right??

Thank you for your time,

Faisal

I am pretty sure procharger has not released or is in production with a kit for the jeep srt8. I know they have them for the lx cars but not the jeeps yet. Vortech FTW, based off of youngmedics success and results

Tbyrne is running a ridiculous deal on the Vortech with a torque converter and two guages right now just FYI since youre looking. Im looking at snagging one by the end of the weekend hopefully.

Procharger has no plans of making a kit for the Jeep.

Your friends advice is obviously biased.....

As everyone else stated, Procharger does not make a kit for the jeep, unless you plan on doing some sort of custom set up. The debate between Procharger and Vortech is kind of like Chevy vs Ford. I had a Procharger on my old truck and it made really good power. My 5.3 Yukon was making 375 hp to the rear wheels. One thing Prochargers are know for is that they are LOUD. The whine is insane, but every one I heard sounded like it had a bad bearing. That sound was actually the internal oiling system.

Prochargers have internal independant oiling systems. I don't know about the newer Vortechs, but some other systems use the engine's oil. The pros of the internal oiling system is that it is suppose to be cleaner since it is not using the engines oil, but you have to change it independantly every 6000 miles. The pros of using the engine's oil is that it is automatically changed when you change the engine oil and he engines oil should be cooler.

The procharger also uses an air/air intercooler, while the vortech uses an air to water cooler.

^^^^^^^^ +1^^^^^^^^^^

Also to add, air to air intercooler will always provide a consistancy over the air to water. For track use the water to air has a cooler charge and you can always add a bigger tank to pack ice into. Another downside to oil out of the engine is you are adding more heat to a already hot compressor.

How about both an air-to-air, and an air-to-liquid intercooler. Double your pleasure, double your fun! The air-to-air sits in the lower chin fascia. The liquid-to-air sits in-line by the manifold and the heat-exchanger bolts in front of the upper radiator.

hmmmmmmm!!! could this be already in works!?
