So I went to this dealership that's combined with Chrysler, Dodge, & Suzuki. I had to get a clutch part for my daily driver '98 Suzuki Sidekick. Anyway, after ordering the part me and my fiance were looking at this Challenger SRT8 on the showroom floor.

I asked the salesman if he had any Jeep SRT8's and he said "Yes, we have 1 '08" so we went and looked at it and he lets us test drive it. It was raining pretty hard when I was driving it, but I was going WOT and it was hooking really good. I was very impressed! I liked the interior, the torque, & the way it pulled. My next car was going to be a '03 Cobra, TB SS, or some kind of SRT8. I think I want a damn JEEP SRT8 NOW!!! I might end up selling my '99 Camaro SS for it, but we'll see. I was bored so I wanted to share my story.

You'll love it if you purchase it. I didn't even get to see my jeep when I purchased it let alone test drive one. They didn't have it at the dealership...but I knew what I wanted and I love the damn thing. Puts a smile on my face every time I get into it

I couldn't make it until August to get it. I can only imagine what you're going through.

I waited 11 months or so from my first test drive to buy one. Of course I wanted one from before that, but the test drive really made me want one.

...that was probably stupid. The car was damn new tho.

I had been in and driven my friends back in early 06 and it was cool and everything but still didnt excite me TOO much. I have always liked them but there are LOTS of cars i "like."

Fast forward to Nov 08 and i decide i want a more muscle like vehicle with soul since my lexus was boring. Being smart i decided to look for a practical, or somewhat practical, muscle car. I mean chargers are cool, but they dont really do anything "good" except go fast, i needed more, ie awd, towing, interior space, ect. Well i immediately became in the market for a TBSS. Drove one, looked for an AWD and couldnt find one in TX. Then i was passing by a subaru dealership in late Dec 08 with a jeep on the lot, went home and researched all night...next morning, drove it and bought it an hour later and the rest is history.

I must say, now that i own one and drive it every day i am way more impressed with it than i was when i drove my friends 3 years ago. It really is an amazing machine.

Probably a whole different world than your used to... sometimes I get sick of slipping the clutch out forever so I don't slide into something..haha.

Did the drivertraing feel like it was dragging at all? (Like a typical awd setup does?) How heavy did the thing feel when you drove it? How was the braking? I sat in one at the Chicago Autoshow and it was nicer than I expected. Just don't know if I could deal with that gas mileage.

(Nothing against you other SRT8 owners but him being from the same car means his answers will hold more weight for me...instead of 'omg if rocks your socks off and your car sucks'. :D)
