For the past couple of days I have been hearing a distinct humming sound toward the front of the car, most noticeably when kept around 65-70 mph. This only happens when I touch the throttle. Any ideas what this could be?

Also, I realized today that you get out of autostick mode by tapping the shifter to the right when in fifth gear, while I had been doing it by shifting into neutral and then back into drive. I don't think this would hurt anything, would it?

you can hold the shifter to the right in any gear to get back to auto. No clue on the humming. Think you are not listening to the radio loud enough. If something is mechanically wrong you will know it.

And yeah the humming doesn't seem to be hurting anything so I will just do my best to ignore it.

wont hurt anything but an extra tranny shift thats not necessary - so 200,000 miles from now you might know it.

I have noticed a similar humming noise from the front also over the past week or so. I will let you know if it gets worse or if problems arise!
