I went to the opening day at E-Town today and only ran 3 13.0's.

I even removed my subwoofers for this to see if it would take my times down at all.

My best time has been 12.8 with the SAME mods. :confused: :confused: :confused:

It was even colder (42') today then it was last time I cut the 12.8?

How could this be that my Jeep was consistently .2 seconds slower?

The culprit was probably atmospheric pressure and humidity. Have you compared the DA's from both days?

As far as the barometer it was like .80 higher TODAY then last time. Does that make that much of difference?

Pressure, temp and elevation are the major factors. Of course cool down, track prep, and the amount of fuel in the tank affects your run also.

On my last visit to the track my 1/8 mile times would vary up to 3/10 tenths as a result of traction on the launch.

.....thicker (new) oil will slow you down slightly.

I was kinda angry after doing work to remove my subs.

Were you running hot? My slowest times were when my engine was hot and didn't cool it down. A bag of ice and fan mod work wonders.

Put a set of my heads on, and run consistent low 12's at that track...lol!!!

Have you compared timeslips from both days to see where you were losing the .2????? You can tell a lot by just comparing timeslips, looking at 60' for traction, the 1/8 mile mark for shifting, 1/4 mph-ET for hp production etc.

second that, your slip has the answers hahah funny enough, you can definitely narrow it down toa problem as stated, my guess, cooler temp and the pressure diff werent it, you have same mods so unless you changed nething thats not it, Possibly the new oil may have affected it being thicker, not sure where or why though at the moment, not 2/10ths at least. You said you removed the sub, so less weight, maybe more wheel spin haha, no but simple track settings and your shift points along with simple gas weights can affect it I'd bet, so go run it again another day and you could easily dip into the 12's again, I would worry about it, 13 flat is still fast in general haha. If your so worried, go for new custom CMR for race gas or somthin haha or throw on some F/I ;)

Do as I do before the first race... spend time alone with the jeep, put your hand on the hood, bond with it, tell him softly he's there to kick-a$$ and nothing more. Two tens faster warrantied :pinklove:.

Man, there's so many factors that affect your time that is not even funny, I wish mine ran exactly the same each time I'm bracket racing, I would be famous by now :D.
You know I heard somewhere that today was a little windy at Etown, maybe it was a head wind and that could have been part of your slower times or possibly when you ran your fastest time you had a strong tail wind too :D.

Well i DA the strip at noon time and it was at a minus 1335 ft AND the humidity was at 52% which means theres lot water in in air and that will kill HP. At 2pm wasnt much better as it went to minus 1181 ft and the temp was at 42 degrees and the humidity was at 47%.

Based on: 12 NOON 2/28/09
Temp: 40°
Humidity: 52%
Track Altitude: 86 feet
Pressure: 30.11 in.
Density Altitude = -1335 feet
Uncorrected 13.00 @ MPH?
Corrected 13.16 @ 0
