Hi folks
Who has had pads and discs done and how much did it cost you?
What mileage were you at?
I'm on 17.5k and think my front pads are low. The discs all round are quite 'lipped' but I don't know how worn they get before needing replacement ...
The main thing is I don't want to get stitched up by my beloved dealer.
Advice gratefully received!
Mike

Mike

Had to change front pads at 22K -cost me £400 from the main dealer (ouch).

Rear ones were done FOC due to the TBS on them.

Suprised they are getting low at 17.5K - been on a track day !!!

I waited until I started getting noise from the 'pad low indicator'.

Thanks, Mark. No track days or hard use, really, and no nasty noises (what does that sound like, anyway?). I'll probably make it to 22k plus, by the sound of it. I don't even know if my rear pads have been done ...
£400 for front pads is surely ridiculous, when aftermarket ones cost about £50 (don't they?) ...

The pads have a metal strip in them to indicate low pads. When they get low you will start hearing metal on metal (you'll know). Every thing is expensive from the dealer, when you get your spark plugs changed at 30K you'll be paying £10 per plug !!

Mine didn't last very long at all. I'm surprised you guys are getting that much on factory pads. Just one track day finished off my pads at 3000 K.

3000K !!! You must have been going some to go through them that quick - what about your tyres.

Also 3K..... :)
I then found out they didn't carry stock replacements in Kingdom..... 3 sets of tires later, I'm ordering out of the US.....
