I understand the benefits of a catch can... But what I do not understand is what is the difference with a $130-150 Billet catch can VS a 45 dollar universal catch can IF your priority is performance and not appearance?

I even see some universal catch cans on ebay for 30 bucks shipped... The hoses are ofcourse brutal quality but you can always spend 30 for the can and 60 for nice high end hoses.... no?

just wondering

Thanks guys

This is a good question as the catch can really does seem like a simple concept. I dont really see what the big deal would be if you go with a $40 can vs a $150 can. Just make sure all the fittings are sealed good and the hoses are good and I guess it should be alright.

You can buy a $5,000 Rolex or a $200 Seiko, both tell the same time. :D Catch my drift.

Exactly.....:D Startech might still have his "Campbells" can available for 10 bucks or so.........See post # 6........probably cheapest out there.

I bought 1 and it came with a stench of mothballs. I ordered from a different seller and the hoses were too small. No such luck.

Get the Billet Tech catch can. It's worth the money and you can't beat their customer service. I saved my catch can from my Charger and sent Heidi a pm about getting a mounting bracket for the Jeep. She's sending me the bracket free of charge for being a loyal customer. Their catch can has been installed in many 5.7 and 6.1 hemis for the LXs and the only issue is the hoses they supply tend to collapse. Most just replace the hoses with better ones from your local autoparts store.

I agree. They are definitely worth it. I'm debating if mine is coming off the Charger or just getting a new one.

No first hand experience but i think i read on here somewhere the greddy is a little small for our application, it fills up too quickly (ie needs to be emptied more often than changing the oil). That being said i heard it works fine.

k... but you would think you dont have to worry about getting BETTER hoses after spending twice as much as other catch cans that do the same job

2 bad they dont just sell a CATCH CAN and than you can go and buy your own lines...

Let me be more specific. That was the only issue I can think of a couple of years ago. Because of the lack of space connecting to the pcv fitting in our manifolds, the hose was slightly bent and would collapse from the vacuum. A quick fix is to insert a small spring in the hose to prevent it from doing that.

A lot of people just switch out the hoses and fittings for looks like I did on my Charger. I understand that it's not important to others but to each his own.
