I bought the 07 taillamps for my 06 because I like the new lines on the side of them. When I got home I realized that the new light only house two bulbs and the 06 houses three. I don't remember off the top of my head but the number of wires is different going into the housings too. Has anyone else done or tried this mod yet? I figure i'd ask before spending time trying to get it right.

Does anyone think it would be against laws or look funny if I got rid the turn signal in the taillights and just put it in the rear fogs? I live in Rockville, MD. my srt is red.

i'd forget it , i have an 07' and tried to wire the black 06' ebays on there, and the 07's have cheap regular plugs and not the wired in plug like the 06's - also 07's run only two bulbs and 06's run three.

If you bypassed the regular wiring, and went straight to the 4 pin trailer connector, you would have the stop/turn wiring after the relays that control them. Otherwise, you would have to have different wiring coming from the turn signal switch.

you have two choices:

1. like sheri suggested, you could simply take the feed from the 4-pin trailer harness, which supplies combined signal/brake wires for each taillamp. very easy and simple.

2. if you don't want to mess with the trialer plug then you can buy a "3-wire to 2-wire converter" like this... http://www.wiringproducts.com/dept_141.html

It's classic decontenting. They went from a separate brake light and turn signal to one bulb on each side doing both.

Personally I do not like the 07's tail lights. I wish they would have kept the 06 style.
