There's somthing different about the roof rail setup on the SRT8 compared to the other GC's. Is some kind of Mopar ski carrier available that attaches to that abbreviated roof arrangement?
Regarding the stock tires, am I correct in assuming that they're not the legal "all season" type? (In Calif. you can often avoid having to install tire chains if you have 4WD and all season tires).

What you are looking at are the mounting bosses for the stock GC roof rack. If you obtain a factory roof rack, you can install it in these mounting points. I believe you will need a torx bit to do so.
If you install the factory rack (which others have done, and I think it looks great) with the crossbars, then you can attach what ever ski/board racks you want to.
The Goodyear EMT tires are M+S tires. You should not have trouble having the AWD and these tires. However, if you get into an R-3 chain restriction, its tough because you will have trouble getting chains to fit well.
I took our GC to Mammoth earlier this month. There is a write up elsewhere on this site.
