We will host it if you want. I have 20 sitting on the shelf right now. I just need to get more belts in, but thats easy enough. How much interest is there? I will sell for the following.

5-10 units: $175 plus $20 for bolt/belt
11+ units: $150 plus $20 for bolt/belt

Shipping is additional and usually around $15.

I have installed a couple of these and we didn't see any negative effects on charging or accessories.

As far as the install goes, I haven't completed one on a GCSRT yet, my pulley should be here end of this week or sometime next week.

Officially, you're supposed to drain the radiator and remove the upper radiator hose, however, I've read that you can install from the bottom if you get it up on jackstands or ramps.
I will report back once I go to install mine.

If working from underneath works, the lift will definitely help. If you have the right rools, an idea of what you're doing, I'd say maybe a few hours, depending.
I can't say for sure as I haven't installed one on a Jeep yet. There seems to be more room on the Jeep than on an LX car.

I dont mean to jump on PPPs thread but I do have some answers that might help those on the fence.

Install time is prob right about 1 hour if you preheat the pulley in your oven.

I have 2 amps and a single sub in my Jeep and Ive idled for 20 minutes with no problems. At idle Im still seeing over 13 volts charging at the battery.

You do not need a lift, I was lazy and drove my Jeep on a 4x4 block and did it in the garage. You will need to have a impact gun to remove the crank bolt and install it back on, it can be done without but that will add time to the install. Autozone will loan you the crank pulley removal tool, the reason I say to heat the pulley in a oven is so you dont need the longer bolt others have had to make or find. If you heat the pulley, you can bang the pulley with a block of wood and small beater enough to get the bolt to draw it in.

I think it was a worth while mod but I did a ported intake at the same time, my gains were around 4/10ths in the 1/4 mile but I dont know what came from what mod.

Thanks for the info, but I want to caution everyone. I would not stick it in the oven as there are rubber bands inside the pulley itself to help with the dampning. I would just heat up the snout end with a torch or hot oil.

This is cool if we can get it for 170 that's a good deal. Everyone should search for some of Marios threads he's had great success with this and for people around the tri-state area he had it installed professionally by a certified SRT tech that does good work around here. I believe his name here is magnumman but he is more on the lx sites.

I'd be a little nervous about installing it myself but I would def wanna try if I knew I had all the right tools and know-how.

Thanks ppp hope this works out!

We arent speaking about the ton of parts here that cant take 200 degrees.
We are speaking about a specific pulley where coolant temps on a stock vehicle can run over 215, oil temps run over 230 degrees. My oven method is no different than you puting a torch to it, you know aluminium is a excellent conductor of heat and I would bet the rubber reaches pretty darn close to the temps I saw in the oven.

Just reread your original post, good luck on that 4 hour install, like I said it took me around a hour in my garage ;) I didnt spend 4 hours total removing the intake twice and installing my pulley :D

many people have different ways to do things, i have used bearing heaters to heart balancers and pulleys before, as well as torches and ovens. Everyone also works on there own pace with there own experience and mechanical ability.

Wow, we are arguing over something so trivial. Its easy for you to stick something in the oven as you are responsible for your own actions. If I tell someone to stick a part in the oven and it fails, it is on me. Your instructions are extremely vague, you didnt say what temp or how long or nothing, me applying a torch to it does not get the front end hot at all where the bands are located. As for your 1 hour install, congrats, but Im not going to tell someone 1 hour when realisticly for your average DIY person it will be closer to 3 hours. How did this thread become an attack on my ability to install a pulley, not once have I said anything about how long it takes me. Some ego you must have to sit back and say "it only took me one hour". You know what, send me your address so I can send you a cookie for your superb installation capability, better yet, I will send you some cookie dough and you can put them in the oven with your next pulley. LOL.

You are correct it is so trival but now your back tracking, you didnt say not to heat it in the oven, I DID. How will that ever fall back on you ? Vague instructions, its a pretty basic job and if the installer doesnt have a clue, he prob shouldnt attempt. You corrected me, there is nothing wrong with my way, it works as does the torch. Blown454Nova got it correct and about sums up this thread.

Please do send the cookie dough but I wont cook it, I like it raw and in my ice cream  Good luck, it apprears that you have earned at least 10 sales thru this post.

This will about cover it, not trying to offend anybody but if this isnt good enough for you you prob need to pay someone to complete the job.

1) Heat oven to lowest setting or 200 Degrees :D

2) Get a ratchet and remove the original FEAD belt (Take note of how it is routed)

3) Use the Chrysler Pulley removal tool to remove the stock pulley (This tool can borrowed from Autozone or OReiley) You are going to need to have a impact gun at this point, if you dont have a impact gun you prob need to stop because you can remove the pulley but will not get the new one on.

4) Wear oven mitts and dont burn yourself on the hot pulley (If you didnt know that stop what your doing :D )

5) Use a wooden block and small beater to get new pulley to go as far into crank as possible or at least until a few threads from bolt grab.

6) Hit the bolt with a impact gun until pulley is driven into crank, the pulley needs to be aligned with rest of pullies so belt wont jump.

* You will need to remove fan assembly if your impact gun doesnt fit, If memory serves me correct there are 4 bolts(either 8mm-5/16ths or 10mm) you will also need to remove coolant hose to pull the fan assembly upwards

Guys its a really easy install just like the intake, your only problem will be the need for a impact gun.

The long term effects on the engine are non-existent from my experience. I've had under drive pulley sets on every vehicle I've ever owned. Never been the cause of any motor problems I've dealt with. And btw, I've been working on cars for 14 years, and my install time was just over 2 hours. So this guy who did it in 1 hour must be a damn prodigy! I am putting the group buy on the website right now. i can not go any lower than I already have otherwise I will be loosing money on each sale. The pulley works on the 5.7 cars, but not the 5.7 jeeps/trucks. The 5.7 jeep/truck has different accessories and an 8-rib setup compared to the 6-rib on the cars. The off-set is slightly different also.

Here is the link to the pulley.

Dude! I just checked into the site and was ready to buy, but then i saw 31.45 to ship to FL 34997! WTF! That is pretty ridiculous! Shipping price is way out of line especially for a 7.5 lb pulley! Almost feel like I'm buying from ebay! LOL!

Seriously, any chance pf getting actual shipping costs?

Much better, but... Actually, there is still a problem though... Paid through paypal. Total bill was supposed to be 184.05 but after sending payment the bill inflated to 191.48. What's up with that? Not trying to be a cheap ass, but the deal was supposed to be 184.05 when I paid! That's it! After payment, all of a sudden there is a 3.75 surcharge that I didn't agree to, which would then make the bill. 187.80. Then there is an additional amount of 3.98 that the bill says nothing about! What's up with that?

I guess my wife being a CPA is getting the better of me! It's her fault! LOL!

On group buys we always have a 3% suurcharge to cover credit card fee. Im not sure what the 3.98 fee is, I will call tech support to find out. It looks like the surcharge might be in there twice. I can send you a $3 gift certificate if it helps?

Andy, do you happen to have overdrive pulleys for the alternator? I've been watching this since you guys started, and was really thinking about getting in, but I think I may have a charging issue. My truck idles ALOT, its used to jump start everything from cars to UPS trucks, and my boss wants me to consider putting emergency strobes in it. I'm really worried that underdriving the alternator will cause problems.

Power Ported Performance
02-23-2009, 03:03 PM
in 2 years we have never had a charging problem nor have any of our customers so we have not invested into making an overdrive pulley. You could always raise your idle up 100rpm to have the same amount of idle charging capability.

I just got a nasty email from one of the buyers of the group buy about how long it is taking. I am very sorry for the length of time it is taking, but we sold more pulleys than what we had on the shelf. Rather than ending the group buy, we left it up there and ordered more pulleys in. We are only making $7 per pulley, so it is not worth the frustration of getting emails from customers that are pissed about the 2 weeks it has taken. If anyone is tired of waiting, just let me know and I will gladly refund your money back to you with no hard feelings, but when I get emails telling me how stupid this is, it makes me not want to do group buys, so I ask that if you want a refund, just let me know and I will gladly issue it, but please dont send me an email telling me how stupid this is and that if you dont receive by a certain date your going to cancel your order. I hope this doesnt come across as rude, its just frustrating when you offer such a good deal and people still find a way to complain. We are doing the best that we can and everyone will have their pulleys by the end of next week.

Thanks to everyone else who has been patient.

Who would be DUMB enough to complain about how long it takes,he could have closed the sale at 11 and then you would have been paying full price or $hit out of luck.At lease Andy and PPP were good enough to help use out and do the group buy and a GREAT price.SO STOP WHINNING AND WAIT!!!!!!,or ask for you money back because im sure somone else will jump on the deal.

Sorry you have to deal with A$$HOLES ANDY

Newfie.

Damn, I was delighted with the savings. .

Guys, don't be @$$es when we get to save money.

Want to be an @$$? Pay full price then you have the right to complain about slow order processing.

Most of our supporting vendors are not large corp's with hundreds of people working in order fulfillment. Our group buys are large spikes in their business and they have to work extra hard for a lower margin. Just be happy with the savings.

Whomever is complaining is a real douchebag.

Can we come to your work and whine about something that you are doing for $7?

Sorry for your troubles Andy.... It was good talking with you on Saturday. Some people are jack asses and being in retail, unfortunatly, you gotta deal with them. The the person who wrote the email, if you're reading this, good God man, what is your issue? Cancel the order and pay alot more somewhere else. I'm sure Andy can sell it pretty damn quick. That's just flat out plain and simple rude!

Mine arrived in sunny Florida today, via stealth UPS no tracking delivery.

Now, to find a qualified installer... Or do I wait for my warranty to end in April...

20 pullies on the shelf.
42 sold

first 20 shipped out
25 more ordered
7 were on the shelf in the US
7 shipped out to the next 7 custotmers
15 orders remaining
18 pullies are on cargo ship from AUS to the states

They are scheduled to be at US warehouse on Friday at which time all remaining orders will be shipped.

I am very sorry for the delays, but I also posted that there could be delays with the large number of orders.

Is this price still available? If so I want to get one with the belt and bolt. I understand about the delays and I'm ok with that

I have 3 that are not spoken for, but I have already adjusted the price on the website to $165 + $20 for the belt and bolt.

Thanks.

Mike, yours and Anthonys are going out today guranteed. As a matter of fact, all orders are shipping today which is about 7 guys. Thanks to everyone that supported this, we sold right at 50 underdrive pullies during this sale.
