i've decided to do the kicker speaker upgrade. i only want the speakers and amp and not the sub. i saw just the speakers and amp on moparsupercenter.com for around 380.00. is there anywhere on the forum or venders that we can get it at a cheaper price through?

Dealer cost is around $330 so you probably won't find a deal too much lower...

Pretty good quality for the price, much better than stock. I have no regrets.

i guess im gonna order it then. i mainly want new door speakers but i dont know if its worth getting the amp if im not going to get the subs

You will notice ZERO difference if you do not pick up the amp. The amp is for the speakers, the amp for the mopar subs are built into the box.

Definitely get the amp, it's a great deal at under $200.

I am waiting for the door panel puller I ordered to finish the install. I got the kicker tweeters in the dash last weekend and they definately sound better. I am also not putting an amp in (at least yet).

The Kicker amp is an 8 channel 368w amp (46w/channel).
If you do not need the two extra channels, is the 46w/channel from the Kicker amp any better than the 46w/channel from the stock amp?

If using the stock speakers, upgrading to the Kicker amp would be of no benefit. But, if upgrading the door and dash speakers to Kicker you will find that the tuning is much better, yielding better sound overall. The Kicker amp also will play louder without distorting than the stock amp because of the software in the amp. Additional features of the amp are driver selectable surround, and video surround if the vehicle came with VES...

This is good thread with great info... I'm interested in your results. I don't want to install a sub as well, just improve clarity with richer highs and mid-range...

If the drop in Kicker amp and speakers can do all that and still produce enough bass, it would be worth the upgrade.

i just did all 4 speakers in my rig... but i went with Infinity Reference dash and rear doors. Cost me $110 for all 4! (ebay)
and I tell ya... the difference was night and day. I kept the stock front door speakers (subs) as i didnt really see a need to change them being that i have the JL stealthbox in the back to handle the low end. But other wise i could'nt be happier with my new setup.

just giving other options vs the kicker setup.

I thought this install was about the OEM Kicker amp and speakers w/o the rear sub... if you're going aftermarket read this thread as well...
