I haven't yet, but I will be looking into events this summer. After Xing the SRT GC down in Daytona for the SRT experience I want some more!

It's a blast and the looks people give ya .... it's hilarious. Only problem is most tracks are dead set against SUV's. It took a lot of convincing for the FIA guys to give a shot on the local track here.

Here are some videos that T-time took when we were at the Autobahn C.C. in Joliet, IL. Auto crossing the Jeep is so much fun. The performance shop that put this on is planning some more events for '09.

The best part about doing it in the rain was very litle tire wear since you were sliding everywhere. You learn a lot about what your car can and can't do in these conditions. All I have to say is that is was the most fun I've had driving a vehicle. I highly recommend trying it.

I believe it was Neil Young or CCR. Hopefully he will play something better next time. LOL
T-time had posted a thread about this event but nobody came. We will keep you posted when they release this years schedule or you can check here http://amsperformance.com/trackday.php

...so it looks more the likes of road racing than autox'ing...

i know there was an arizona chapter of scca that sponsored solo II events (autocross)..but for the life of me...I can't find a chicago or illinois chapter that puts out these events...looks like they only dive into championship series...

You are right. This was a road course, no cones and no times. You just get to drive your Jeep the way it should be driven. Fun none the less
