Does anyone know the % darkness of the tinting of the 2nd row/behind driver's seat? I am getting my front windows matched to the ones behind them tomorrow. Thanks.

Trying to wrap up a few mods before the meet on Sunday? :D I don't know what the rears are, but I went 15% all around the truck. I'm happy with the results.

Haha you know it! :)

I just don't want to mess with the other windows...they look nice as in. See ya Sunday.

P.S., have you been able to get the reverse tilt mirror function to work in your 07's? I couldn't find it at the dealer with the StarSCAN today...

Pretty sure they are 17%.

I would go with 15% if you can find it. If not, 20%.

my tint meter said 20%

I haven't tried having it done. I think that function would annoy me more than anything. I had it on my Envoy, but never ever used it in 2.5 years.

Remember, it won't match perfectly because it's dipped. And aftermarket is film.

Can the "dip" be removed so that I can use tint film on all windows? I want everything to match pretty well...at least enough so it doesn't look weird driving around.

Maybe wait on the tint and check mine out on Sunday and see whatcha think? I think it looks niice.

I would rather not tint ALL of the windows if I can get away with just tinting the fronts to match the backs. What exactly did you do to get yours looking perfect OurZoo?

I don't know about perfect, but I just had my tint guy do 15% all the way around. They look pretty even, but of course are not. The back is dark, that is for sure. It's gonna be so, so niice when summer hits and its 100 frickin degrees. You live on the WEST SIIIIIDE so you don't get to deal with all of the heat come summer. My Charger is even darker. Man, you don't even need to wear sunglasses. It's nice.:D

Well what about the front windshield? Haha...gotta wear sunglasses for that!!

Actually had the front band on the windshield. At least we did until she got into her mysterious run in on the freeway and had to have the windshield replaced.

:-(

Guess I'll have to check your tint job out Sunday. :-) I'm gonna go by the tint shop tomorrow morning and see what I think about what this guy can offer. Either way, see ya Sunday. Look for the 19 year old lowlife in the blue SRT-8.

Definitely go 15%. I have 20% on the fronts, and the fronts and rears do not perfectly match.

20% - thats what my shop used to match my front windows when I had them tinted.

I got 20% on my fronts also. Great match.

Yeah it really is. I have people ask me all the time "Did your front windows come like that from the factory?" :D

In the U.S. just about all factory rears will be 20%.

I did 15% and it looks almost perfect.

We made an inquiry of a tint shop at an aftermarket automotive trade show a couple of weeks ago in Florida. One of the tint manufacturers said that 20% was the match for our Jeeps - not that I am saying that is the end all opinion.

However, have to remember you have a very untinted winshield much closer to the front door windows letting light in at them, so if you want it to look equal, under certain conditions it may be necessary to have 15%.

Sounds like people are satisfied with both choices though.

Had mine done with Lumar brand Metallic Oxide tint 23%, with the stock glass and the new tinted glass side by side and measured with a light meter, they were within 1% difference.

Hey guys, maybe you can throw some photos up of your rides so we can get a better view which is a better match ?

I'll tint the back windows with a coat of 15% but for the front windows I'm gonna leave them as is. I want people to see who is controlling this beast!

I am planning on going 35% on the fronts. This still is a good blend between the windshield, the front doors and the rears. I don't want to lose too much in the way of visibility - would hate to miss the expressions of everyone on the streets and sidewalks, plus they should know its not Bert Reynolds driving. :)

I have seen some Jeeps with the 35% and it looks good. I have used this on my cars before.

I have 35% on the fronts for reference, doesn't match.....but looks fine in person.

Don't want decreased vision and don't need extra crap from cops if I get pulled over where they can't even see in the vehicle.

Even the guy who did the tint uses 35% on the fronts of his Lexus RX.

Yeh - by no means as dark, but a good progression and much improved from stock.

That is an awesome pic of your Jeep by the way. Maybe I need to paint silver...

I've used 15% metallic (lifetime warranty!) on both my Cherokee Classic and Murano. It looks like a great match darkness wise, but I've always noticed that the fronts are a slightly different color.
