I just put a deposit on a Black '09 Jeep SRT-8, the MSRP $46,700 and they are giving it to me for $36,900 and has the following options:

-29L Preferred Customer Select Package
-Navigation w/Backup Camera
-SRT OPTION GROUP 1
-Sunroof

The only thing is that it doesnt have, that is a MUST for me is the High Intensity Discharge Headlamps that come with GROUP OPTION 2... they told me it would not be a problem and they would install those for me for $600 installed, but I would not be able to have the AUTO LEVELING OPTION why, doesnt that all come in the headlight assembly??

Can someone get me that part number just so I can confirm they are installing oem High-Intensity Discharge Headlamps and not some aftermarket stuff... Thanks guys!!!

thats a great price for an 09 !!! you can always add features later !!

You would be able to tell by turning the lights on. Pull it into a garage and they should be at standard height, lower, and then raise back up. All the after market ones I have seen are fixid height.

I dont understand how you can have the HID housing but not have the auto leveling option... doesnt make sense :confused::confused:

the auto leveling is in the pcm and also they have sensors through out the jeep so if they didnt get if from the factory then it would cost so much to get all the sensors put in.

It would seem to me that they could put the auto-level system in. They could order everything needed. Re-flash whatever needed. Hmmmm...... anyway, that's a smokin' deal. I'd jump on it for sure.

Yes as mentioned the auto leveling system isnt all in the headlamps. Its actually a complicated system that works with several computers. NOT a easily added feature and might even be impossible if not done new at the factory.
Either way thats an AMAZING price your gonna love that thing.

P.S. Here is a short video clip I made of the HID's going through the startup check. They cycle down then back up to the proper height based on engine load, vehicle payload etc etc. I love these headlights!

a couple guys here have done the same mod. you can adjust up and down just like non HIDs so you can make them work.

I don't care about auto leveling as long as I got the HID... Anyone know what bulbs they use?? And what temp?? H7? H1? And 4300k or 4500k? I want to order some 8000k bulbs...

they use D1S bulbs that are prbably 4300K like my 08 hids. the autoleveling would be a nightmare to install. They will do just like I did for my install.....more than likely.

I saw your (soon to be?) '09 on their website. At the time, I didn't think they'd budge too much on it so I ended up getting a leftover '08. BTW, I got 10k off mine so I think you are getting a great deal.

My point is that beginning with late build '08's (mine), they changed the Brembo's to red which I also really like.

Good luck! I dont think it will happen..that would be opening a can of worms if the dealer did that! future unforseen electrical problems & the liability if the light where to fail while your driving.not to mention the sales code wont match your vin# info..& also warranty replacement! they would order the non hid lamps because your vin.info break down in the star parts catalog would show it came with regular head lamps & not the hid's they installed. in the end it will boil down to what is safe vs. sale,I hope anyway:eek: but that is a great price.. again good luck.

I put 6000K D1S bulbs in mine and they are bluish......the stock bulbs are super white with a little blue.

dude, for that price. i would SERIOUSLY not be complaining about ANY options you did or didn't get. Thats an absolute steal. My 09 with the same options was 41k.
